  1. Aw bugger, she was game for it (a laugh!) in Guest House Paradiso not so long ago an'aw. You need sound as well as vision this time Ally. Right up there with Joan Greenwood, Kirsty Young, Mariella Frostrup & Annie Nightingale. Deffo first or second in fact in the vocals.
  2. That's an up-vote for a couple of places on my beer and grub map already cheers BH. Do you or Ronnie know if there anywhere worth visiting in the stadium / beach area before the crowd arrives? Yes, I'll be hoofing it up and over the hill at some point though. Better still if I can find a bus map that isn't all squiggles. I've managed to navigate before ok on Cyrillic, but Hebrew has me beat
  3. Hats off Humper, you called this right. I'm obviously not alone in thinking your shout for SOD was through club-tinted spectacles, but the boy dun good. Good for the manager too; to say to him... you are our right back, go out there and play your game. He may or may not yet be a world beater, but league C out of D is where we are at. Some of the guys are still making mistakes, but at this level, we're less likely to suffer for it. McGinn's been mentioned, but I just loved the good old fashioned fire in the belly. Hope we can lose one and keep the other as the lads progress. Last night we dominated as most have said, but got I a bit of a start whet I got home and saw on the highlights how many chances Albania had. They were not good enough to capitalise, but that's where we both are right now. And I mean both. Albania have three points too and one bad game from us pulls them back into it.
  4. Hyrdo's shit. Seats are miles from the pitch stage
  5. Ya fekkin' jakie ye Just kidding. Actually, last time I was in Paris the Seine's banks were flooded. Cranes were hauling the wee bars and shops out of the water and folk couldn't get to the bateau mouches due to the gangplanks being under water.
  6. Win this (League C, Group 1), then win this (Path C play-offs), and we are in the Euro2020 finals. The toughest opposition we can face in the 2nd part is probably Serbia.
  7. I'm a west coaster, but have seen recommendations for Cloisters bar and The Brauhaus (maybee on here!). Next door to you is Bennets, but I believe they diddled my whisky whilst there, so fekkem.
  8. I looked up our record against them just out of curiosity. They scored 3 or 4 goals against us (though we got some back) in every game up to 1980 except one... Our 1958 world cup warm up game with them was 1 each, when as we know they were reckoned to be the best in the world. Crowd btw 54,900. The old place must have looked half empty
  9. Switzerland looked very capable, but seemed content to loose 2-1 in Paisley and have been punished. Great effort from our lassies. They must have been tense, but didn't show it. Not 'til the final whistle anyway 😂
  10. Yaaas! Scotland going to a World Cup. Had to look it up... France next June. Who's gaun?
  11. Cheers Ronnie. What's it like getting up & down the hill on either side? Looks a climb. Are the buses pay on entry?
  12. I like that, in that it keeps with their long tradition.
  13. Just watched The Reluctant Fundamentalist (OK, I'm a bit late) and enjoyed the intro...
  14. September - Halestorm at the Academy October - Jon Spencer at Broadcast November - Virginmarys at Stereo Also looking at Killing Joke, Cowboy Junkies, Clutch.
  15. We didn't value it when only 8 teams qualified Pete.
  16. I might have this wrong, but is it an offence to carry a concealed weapon in the US, but an offence to carry an unconcealed weapon in the UK? I've been in the hills here and seen guys on Argocats with rifles wrapped up on the back. So in the US, holstered weapon is OK, but glovebox not? What's the logic?
  17. Which TV angle and speed? Ref didn't have the full set and may have seen a straight leg. Slow-mo seemed to show his foot bouncing over the ball, so not intentional, but can understand if it appeared dangerous.
  18. That maybe answers your own question Ramy. OK USA, not Canada, but I mind walking into a sports shop in a shopping mall there looking at shirts or something, and being taken aback at guns on the wall... between basket balls and vitamins or whatever. Pump action shotguns and automatic pistols. You know, sports equipment. And that was Northern California, not Texas. Folk at work there spoke of one guy (so not a common thing) who had a "collection". They were not comfortable with him; like 'stay away from the dangerous weirdo'. So I'm thinking folk are not that different there, but the laws allow nuts too much scope for expression.
  19. Just hope it's not a sign that the Nations League is not being taken seriously. I don't expect there's much chat about it down south.
  20. Was it Jim Craig that got that from Jock Stein once? He'd been relieved to be on the bench when all eleven got torn apart one by one by Stein at half time. But then the big man came to him...
