  1. Past hour
  2. I don’t want to go down a rabbit hole over a penalty claim from months ago. You’ve got your opinion and I’ve got mine, let’s leave it at that. That would be nice and it’s possible if we are clinical but I think it will be tight.
  3. Today
  4. There is a huge psychological advantage in that Rangers have to win, and Celtic don't.
  5. It's baffling that anyone can watch or listen to him and think "he represents me" 😳 There is a lot of assumptions I think still about the parties and what they stand for based on historical perception/policies. Particularly the older generation, thinking that the Tories are about working hard and getting somewhere off your own back. Not sure if they ever were and all the corruption and eagerness to cut corners while avoiding responsibility is just more blatant now. Labour saying they'll scrap Rwanda and divert money to a smuggling squad still doesn't address the root cause of it all. I know this is all a bit off topic but if these issues feed into folk's voting intentions then it is all relevant to independence.
  6. Might do then thanks, I've heard the Bob Mortimer ones are good and I like him anyway so could look for those episodes.
  7. Hey, Mülheim is a very local neighbourhood but really subcultural and multicultural. I would not say it's shite, it's just not too posh. But as you say, getting from there to town with tram line no 4 is easy and short distance. You can go from Mülheim to Neumarkt.
  8. The SNP have moved away from the greens, thats what you wanted. The reason they are given airtime is because they are now attacking the SNP - see post from exile above. The Media will be all over anyone who does this. Douglas Ross is quite possibly the worst and thickest politician I have ever seen but he is always in the media because he attacks the SNP
  9. I really don’t understand why. The SNP would be far better off and more powerful if they moved on from the greens. It’s a massive distraction alienating the middle ground. I could vote for the SNP with Forbes leading, but not with the greens holding any influence.
  10. Precisely. Excuses, excuses, excuses is all it is. But lets be honest dyed-in-the-wool unionists will never change which I just do not get. I'd love to be a fly-on-the-wall in their houses when the news is on reporting the continuous Westminster shit show and watch their reaction and conversations on it behind closed doors.
  11. Agree it's good news to an extent that most of our key players won't be going into the summer fresh off of all sorts of late season aggro and cup finals etc. It really messed with us in my opinion for2022 going right in to the postponed Ukraine play off game and also getting pumped in Dublin off a shite Ireland team. The one perennial concern for me is McGregor who is a workhorse for Celtic putting up 50-60 games a season consistently. You have to wonder how long he can keep that up. On the flip side I would personally be pulling for Adams to help take Southampton to the PL and come into the Summer on a personal high and hopefully full of confidence.
  12. Me too. A 75% match fit Hickey should be better than Ralston. McCrorie for his athleticism is a better alternative I reckon but Clarke due to having Ralston in many recent squads will probably give him the chance.
  13. He (Johnston) is playing mostly as a sub, 10 minutes here and there; he's managed around 700 minutes of top level football though which is okay. The same can be said of Ralston I suppose although he is nearer 1000 minutes. Ralston has the experience card to play, Johnston the higher ceiling. Ralston hasn't played since February, Johnston is playing a little every week. Tough call from those two, but probably Ralston given Clark values continuity and experience. McCrorie I think will go as the starting rightback if Hickey doesn't make it as he is also a good utility player. Clark can have him on the bench and use him to cover right back, both centre backs and defensive mid. If Hickey does go (and I think he will even if not fit) then I think Clark will use the expanded squad to take three of the four; Hickey, McCrorie and Ralston.
  14. He needn't be expected to play the full 90 minutes of each match. Even if we get 45 mins out of him V Germany before being subbed for Ralston or whoever it would be an improvement on what we have. Thereafter he may be able to complete an hour V Switzerland and approaching the full match V Hungary. Give me that over the alternatives any day of the week.
  15. It will be up to Steve Clarke. No way on Earth will the SFA sack their most successful manager in a generation on the back of qualifying for the Euros. That is a laughable and ludicrous suggestion. People wanting him out should think back to the years of toil and humiliation under the likes of Vogts, Burley, Levein etc. On the point made by mccaughey (which I agree with much of it) I must disagree about us having a limited squad. I think if we have everyone fit and in form we have a very good squad with options in most areas apart from in goal and up front. When we have a full squad to pick from we have shown we can mix it with the best but there is a fall-off when multiple key players in key areas (ie wing-backs) we struggle. With Patterson definitely put and Hickey looking increasingly likely to miss out it severely weakens us and so my expectations for the summer have dipped. Sooner we are there though and kicking off the tournament than sitting at home watching on TV has we have become accustomed to before Clarke took over.
  16. What a messed up country we are Politicians pushing forward too much on trans rights --> A reason to not vote for a pro independence party Politicians too traditional in views on LGBT --> Another reason to not vote for a pro independence party Parties with the same mix of views but who don't see Scotland as a country --> No problems voting for them, apparently
  17. I heard Ross Greer on radio 4 the other day. The BBC give the Greens of England almost no airtime (relative to Reform party, etc) and suddenly giving the Scottish Greens airtime...
  18. I'd rather take that gamble than use Ralston Is Max Johnston an option? He's playing at a decent level, untested with Scotland but so was Gilmour when Clark threw him in. He also played Patterson out of necessity at RB despite him only featuring a handful of times for Rangers
  19. I suppose the problem so many in England have is the lack of political choices if you:- A. Want rid of the Tory government. B. Do not see Labour as anything more that Tory in red clothing. The rise of the Reform Party too is not the answer for many ex-Labour voters. Outwith that you have the Lib Dems who are unpalatable to many. Seems to me a yawning chasm that a new party could exploit.
  20. I agree. I think the minimum has to be for us to win a game for him to stay really. That's based on Hickey being the only first-choice player out. If, for example, Tierney is out too then I think three losses and him staying is possible provided we don't collapse in those games. The team thar qualified for the last euros were way off it in normal qualification so the bar is now higher. .
  21. A quick google reminded me that Clarke is under contract until 2026. I don't see anything non-personal related that would stop him from trying to take this current squad of players, who have grown with him at international level, as far as they can go. I think 2026 is about the same time frame by which many of them will have their best years behind them. I don't think a difficult Euros and Nations League would put him off too much, which we all know is a very real prospect. Strachan's exit was much the same, although less successful than Clarke he had built his core squad who he stuck with throughout and in the end graciously left.
  22. Would love to see a journalist ask Harvie a simple question, why do you attack a christian woman like this but you never mentioned any of these issues when a devout muslim was.........not the deputy FM but the FM of Scotland?
  23. From what I saw Swinney dealt quite well with Harvie the other day As a minority Government the SNP will need the support of others but that doesn't mean the tail wagging the dog. Nor does it mean alienating people unnecessarily.
  24. You are starting to get it, not the LGBTQ issue but you are absolutely right, Harvie is a nobody now that he doesn't have the SNP coat tails to hang on to BUT he is getting a lot of airtime, ask yourself why?
