Caledonian Craig
English people get quite irate about the fact that Scottish pensioners get things they do not yet we all pay the same social taxes. It seems very 'unfair' and of course they are right, it is. It was done to send them a signal about what you can do when you have control. It was only ever going to be sustainable if we went all the way. Yes I agree. English people are harbouring discontent now and the call for their own parliament to give such powers for MP's deciding on English issues which is perfectly fair enough. The cracks are growing in the union and though we voted to remain in it - it may be on the verge of self-destructing anyway or at least decay away. ShedTA
I am certain the Independence question won't go away after such a large proportion voted for it. The cork is now out of the bottle so to speak. It is all about how long Westminster can put off the next referendum. In Quebec I do believe it was an eight year wait. The problem I'd David Cameron has to agree to referendum. He messed up by agreeing to this one. He thought he would romp it. He/ they won't make that mistake again. Let's not be fooled - they were very scared.
Betty
It's becoming clear that the worm is turning on itself. All Westmonster have succeeded in doing in scrabbling to hold on to Scotland is to empower England to demand parity. And when they fail to deliver it all hell will break loose. Kirk
The break up is happening! The welsh are going to give them a go too. Newcastle want away. Manchester and others want more powers. It shows the union is fucked, and people are realising. Bring on the revolution. thplinth
They cheated the No in Scotland to get off the hook and now its time to pay the piper down south. They are going to get eviscerated, all of them. Their mouths were writing cheques their arses can't cash. If somehow they do manage to deliver they will have sold themselves out so many times to get it they will all have an arsehole like a wizard's sleeve. And if they fail to deliver what then? Another reason to demand another vote not in a generation but as soon as we give the SNP a new mandate. One clear way to do that is mass membership of the SNP and returning them to power with a bigger majority. The latter might be a little optimistic in the short term , so perhaps a period of opposition will come first (and that is best for the SNP now anyway). DonnyTJS
Becoming convinced the only way we will get Independence is when England votes for it's own aka Czech and Slovakia velvet divorce. Neither the Czechs nor Slovaks voted for the Velvet Divorce.
