KennyMiller
Was the same last time. My train was at 6am and the conductor wasn't too fussed. Hoping for the same again. Edited November 2, 2016 by KennyMiller
Geed
As long as you are discreet you will be ok, plastic cups, vodka and coke. as long as you aren't rowdy on the train they will turn a blind eye
GordonC
I tweeted Virgin East Coast this morning and they have said the only train at the moment which is planned to be dry is the 9:52 from Aberdeen

KennyMiller
Where's the confusion started from then?
Butthead
I work on the railway that 0952 is always dry because it used to be full of blootered women going to Newcastle for hen nights. They have blokes going round checking for drinking but if it's done in the shade then it'll be no bother.

Just seems a bit arbitrary that's all, but I can't imagine being blootered pre 10am!!! To be honest though, blootered birds on a morning train heading away for the weekend ought to be highly encouraged....
Butthead
There are no other trains to Newcastle from Aberdeen until later in the afternoon. They've obviously had loads of bother on it, fair enough.

I was in Newcastle for a stagger this summer and was told (at the ticket office) that if I wanted a drink I should take the 7:52 instead.
