Is the song your thinking of "The Big Man and the Scream Team Meet the Barmy Army Uptown" ? That is the actual title !

The lyrics are something else indeed

 You can tell Irvine Welsh had a hand in those lyrics!

The best 'worst ever' for me has to be the '74 WC squad's cover of England's 1970 'Back Home'. Totally cringeworthy and titled Back Hame. Most of these songs are cringeworthy of course but the 74 album takes some beating. Still got it though with my ripped out Dundee Sporting Post results and tables page all filled in in ballpoint pen. Collectors' item or what?

£4.00.  Bit of an eclectic mix.  A few songs by the squad and then some random non-football songs by Scottish artists to fill it up.

Was there not "fill in's" between the songs with introductions by Denis Law to give it a kind of "live" feel to it that builds up to a duet of Denis and Rod Stewart singing "Angel"?

Does anyone remember a single that came free with the official guide to the 1990 world cup... went something like.

"England,Scoland, Ireland too,

You've made the final so good luck to you,the hardest part has just begun but in the end we'll cry they've won.."

Billy Bremner talks against a backdrop sound of Scotland the Brave I think it is (album in loft and I am offshore). Something like, 'My name's Billy Bremner- although I've played in England all my life, the only thing I think of when I pull on that blue jersey is.......Scotland'. Cue increased music volume.  Corny like but stirring stuff when you are 15 years old, living in England and full of drink! I think Marmalade are on it. The band that is. Chirpy, chirpy cheep, cheep.  The whole album Is certainly a rich source of utter crap.

Anyone know the name of the song that started,

"to the heart of every player, from the heart of every fan, please remember when you're out there, that were with you every man" or something along those lines.

Goes on  about the terraces of hampden and the stadiums of France.

I used to have it,but ended up watching too much porn and killed my laptop.

Thanks in advance. :ok:

I know the one you're on about, but can't remember the name of it.

I'm sure it used to be on Paul Nata's website.

found that CD in the house yesterday after reading this thread.  that "tune" is pretty awful.. it's the usual Primal Scream trippy melodies circa that period of their work.  you can barely hear the lyrics on the track though which is probably a good thing.  I hadn't realised it was Irvine Welsh at the time as it sounded like the mumblings of Aidan Moffat from Arab Strap.

I really dig the Fannies but no thought has gone into their effort whatsoever.  it was either written in 5 mins or was an extra riff that they hadn't used up to that point and just repeats on and on "Hey Everybody, everybody" x 100".  to be honest I'd forgotten all about them being on that CD.
