Jaggy Jim
https://twitter.com/RichardLochhead/status/589843886358585344 Think it's the UK govt that should be reviewing it's position when it comes to EU fisheries negotiations.
JohnW
Scotland doesnt have any vote on EU fishing policy ? Unfortunately that's irrelevant, it's still seen as the fault of Holyrood that the fishing industry here is not doing as well as it used to and until the SNP can address these perceptions it's always going to be an uphill task here. Not getting at you. But the SNP have zero say on fishing talks but they GeT blamed .. its not a perception its ignorance.
Orraloon
But they will vote for him, didn't he at least save his deposit in the last election? The SNP haven't dealt very well with the fishing and that's one big issue that's killing support up here. What have the SNP done on fishing that folk are not happy about? Although in theory fishing is devolved, in reality it is controlled by EU regulations which the Scottish Government have almost no say in. I believe that at the last big EU fishing meeting the SG representative wasn't even allowed to take part in the meeting. He had to sit on the sidelines and keep his mouth shut. It's propaganda and it's not just fisher folk that are taken in by it. As we saw last September.

I do seem to remember seeing fishy related things in quite a few SNP manifestos over the years. Couldn't tell you what they were or if they were related to the EU right enough. With leaders called Sturgeon and Salmon it's hardly surprising that there might be something fishy about their policies.

Rossy
Also Ashcroft suggested the SNP were going to win Kircaldy & Cowdenbeath (Brown's old seat) Cowdenbeath and much of central Fife voted quite strongly 'Yes' last September. Brown carried a huge personal vote in these places...it wouldn't surprise me at all that with him gone, people vote SNP.

Not with me personally - I think he's a c*nt - but a great many people still seem to think he's wonderful, in spite of everything he was responsible for. I think it is just a matter of time before Labour wheel him out again to 'save the day'.

teecee-
Brown is a dodger, when was the last time he participated in a debate? He can work a Labour crowd but useless when confronted with opposition.

I imagine it would be the same with an opposition candidate, dodge the issue.

Scunnered
Think it was earlier that afternoon. Clarks meeting finished not long before the game started. I didn't hang about and had missed the first 10 minutes when I got home. Surprised Gordo didn't join you in the pub being a man of the people and all that.
