  5. The upgrade is now classed as a Windows Update now, if you're set to install updates automatically (the default setting) you'll get it. I find it an improvement on 8 and much faster to boot than 7. The BitLocker drive encryption is going to save us a fortune compared to what we pay MacAfee (spit!)
  6. I was talking to our local SNP Convenor about this as he was at the count for the Westminster election and he reckons that Tavish and the liar were looking very worried as the count was going on (the count for Orkney and Shetland was held in Shetland) but when the Orkney results came in they relaxed a bit. Apparently it's difficult to get a definitive number each for Orkney and Shetland but it appears that Shetland voted SNP by a whisker in the Westminster election.
  7. Yes, but it wasn't an independent Shetland that did that.
  8. Indeed, a bunch of crofters and fishermen negotiating with big oil companies what could possibly go wrong...
  9. I think most do, he comes out with all sorts of guff about how Shetland would be hundreds of millions of pounds better off with the full autonomy he's wanting but when pressed on the details there's nothing of any substance forthcoming.

  14. Have to say the picanto is a cracking wee car to drive around the town, which is the majority of my motoring, it's so much better than the Mazda 6 it replaced. Although I dinna think I'd like to do many motorway miles in it, so if I need to drive on Shetland's motorways I'll take the train...
  15. I've just taken delivery of a new Kia Picanto 1.0 with the SR7 trim, what a fantastic wee car to drive Kia are offering a pretty good deal on some of their models just now, I got mine on a 2 years interest free deal.
  16. The SFA will have asked for 8000 initially and will have to pay for them, once they sell out they'll get more. This is what (just about) always happens, every SSC member who wants a ticket will get one.
  17. We use Cisco AnyConnect VPN for our remote users and have never had any problems connecting BT users, even those using the dreaded homehub. I ken this doesn't help the OP but perhaps try another router? i.e. not a homehub
  18. Have been on quite a few trips with Stevie, really sad news this he was one of the genuine good guys. RIP big fella
