The most helpful thing the SFA could do is to negotiate, and inform us of the away allocation BEFORE the Irish put the tickets on general sale . Then we would know if we need to buy home tickets or if we have enough points for the away end . In Germany we ended up with 4 or 5 spare home end tickets that we were forced to buy because we didn't know if we were getting tickets for the away end until a few weeks before the game .

The FAI will most likely give you all the North Stand which is around 3,000 seats. Depending on how home ticket sales are going they will then decide if to give the Scots more tickets or not. IF we beat Poland in Marg ach there will be a huge increase in demand, but if we don't the match will not sell out.

Currently a 3 match package is available to cover the Scots, English and Polish games, and I'd imagine the touts will buy a lot of them (€120) as they would be looking at selling them individually for about €60 a match.

The touts will be fleecing the troops then, big travelling support going to dublin.

10 k easy i reckon.

It's a bit what happened at Parkhead in reverse.

Both associations know there will be high demand but want their own fans to go to the game.

Both sets of away fans are highly organised as they are forking out for flights and hotels etc and buy up all the tickets that the home FA wanted to sell to its own fans. This happens because the very people the home FA wants in are fair weather/last minute fans who do not buy well ahead of time.

Consequently all the traveling fans are in the ground but spotted all over the stadium in wee clumps.

Both FAs should have accepted reality last August and accepted that both away FAs should have been given higher than 5% allocations.

When will they learn? We did it with the Germans, Dutch and English. Would have made sense to do the same with the Irish.

Speaking to Irish fans at the game in Glasgow, they think we will get more tickets than we think, as apparently the Irish equivalent of Regan knows we will shift them no problem, so would rather have a guaranteed sale (be it to away fans) than Irish fans not snap them all up.

Delaney did say we'd get more than 5% even though we restricted the Irish to 5%. Whether that turns out to be the case is another matter...but I think we will.
