Angus Robertson would be leading the SNP at Westminster.

I know, but it's how it plays in the media that these feckers are worried about, and we all know they'd portray Robertson as a puppet with Salmond pulling the strings. In fact they'll do that regardless.

A bit like Celtic and Rangers in Scottish football, the Tories and Labour are terrified of anything that threatens to break their duopoly on British politics.

They're tolerant of the Lib Dems because they're also looked on as an establishment party and are highly unlikely to rock the boat.

They hate the SNP with a passion, because the SNP have the power, support and the resources to give (Scottish) politics a different drive, shape and future........no way will either the Tories or Labour at a UK level want to give the British public at large an inkling that there may be something else out there other than the right wing, neo-liberal policies of the traditional establishment parties.

YAWN!!.....Not going to happen.

You weesht.

Have you got a link to that?

What newspapers?

McWhirter in the Sunday Herald.

I'm merely applying the same logic that some silly Billy's on here applied to an article about SNP members begging Katy  to defect.. OMFGERD Katy  must be behind it!

Nothing to be gained by falling in with the tories who would draw the red line at trident etc anyway. This election is all about destroying labour in Scotland while further eroding the relevance of Westminster to Scots. Coalition and the ensuing power rush by london labour would enable the vow to be pretty much delivered by the snp. The real goal for the snp is the Scottish Elections in 2017 and creating a political landscape to facilitate another referendum.

The article in today's paper does actually suggest a scenario (Con-Lib coalition) which would promote a platform for another independence referendum

The archie falling out of the Lib vote surely makes this scenario very unlikely. 57 seats is likely to be reduced to around 25.

Yes, though the Standard article reckoned a likeliness of 3.5/5 if Tories largest party.

But who would be deputy PM, if Clegg lost his seat? Cable? Danny Alexander?

The members of the party voted to change the party policy.

They did indeed.

But your post raises an interesting theory. SNP have just started a member consultation prior to the May election... Stories start appearing in the press that SNP should consider other coalition partners other than Labour... Hmmm.

And which "press" outlets would that be ?
