ARFC
We've had someone join in on the trip so having to look again at hotels. Would you say the DCU accommodation is a better area or Arbrae Court Guesthouse which appears to be in Terenure?
scottincarlisle
Do I need my passport? Well it doesn't exactly take up much room, so aye to be on the safe side.

Would you say the DCU accommodation is a better area or Arbrae Court Guesthouse which appears to be in Terenure? I know nothing about the Guesthouse in Terenure but Terenure itself is a much nicer area than the DCU location. Terenure is about 20 - 25 bus ride from the city centre whereas DCU is about 35 mins bus ride from the city centre Terenure village is close to the guesthouse , which has a few bars , buts you would head into the city if you were staying in Terenure If the accomodation in Terenure is reasonably priced and is clean and safe , then i would choose Terenure over DCU personally

Cheers Hey Retro, Sandymount is fine bud The hotel is near the "DART" line (train) which will take ye into the city centre in just over 10 mins. Train service is every 15 mins also so ye wont have to be paying for taxis - so its cost effective Sandymount itself is a lovely neighbourhood....right beside the beach and its has a really nice village with some lovely boozers. As you said its very close to Lansdowne Road Stadium so thats an extra bonus, with that its near the "Ballsbridge" area (where the stadium is) , lots of good pre-match pubs here also For when ye are hitting the town and need to get a taxi home, its a short cab ride and wont be too costly if there a few of ye sharing the fare. Any Good Shouts/Gems for Sunday Afternoon/Evening for Amazing Food - Roast Dinner - Irish music and Craic? But not TB. Thanks for Yer Help Hey Ricky The Harcourt Hotel is in a great boozer area. Its extremely close to city centre. Its in a very nice part of the city. There are clubs and boozers on Harcourt st itself But your in extremely close walking distance to , Wexford St, Camden St, St Stephens Green Area, Baggot St , Dame St and Nassau St and many more .....all of have which have great boozers and food areas. Ye are right beside Iveagh Gardens and St Stephens Green....which are very nice walking and relaxation areas....so that may suit the more elderly part of yere group Harolds cross Dogs is great fun....im unsure if they still run a shuttle bus tbh.....but i can tell you on Camden St there is a bus stop (literally a few mins walk ) from your hotel, where you can get the Number 16 bus ...this bus comes regulary and will take ye right to Harold cross and leave ye off near the greyhound track....bus trip will cost about 2.55 eur per person. Also its a pretty short cab ride from the hotel. For Trad music.....Check out O'Donoghues on Baggot St, Devitts and whelans on Camden St , Auld Dubliner in Temple Bar and i HIGHLY recommend the cobblestone bar on smithfield square

Stella Artois 1366
Hello to the Irish lads, what's ur opinion on the current ticketmaster deal of 110 Euro for - v England then v Scotland tickets? Do u think ticketmaster will need to release lots of Scotland only tickets at a later date or do u expect tickets be very limited by the time they reach ticketmaster? kevmac
Lads, heard a worrying rumour that Dublin pubs shut early , 11 or 12 o'clock on a Saturday night . Surely not true !! We booked a hotel (Camden Deluxe - the place The Commmitments was filmed)and then realised it advertised an on-site "Discotheque"..........stumble out of there straight to the Ferry........Boom!!! Do u think ticketmaster will need to release lots of Scotland only tickets at a later date or do u expect tickets be very limited by the time they reach ticketmaster? There is no justification for a fan to be charged 55 eur /75 pound for a ticket for any game mate.....but all associations seem to only interested in financially fleecing the fans these days, I think if ye dont think ye will get a scotland only ticket and purchasing the dual ticket package option is reasonable. The Ireland v England game will be a tense one.......so if ye attend ye cud well enjoy it. A tasty warmup to our game against Scotland albeit i would prefer to play england after Scotland As for ticketmaster......I think the Irish demand for the Scotland game will be high, considering if we beat ye , what boost it would give to our chances of qualifying Edited March 22, 2015 by Green_Tide_Rising

I have just moved to Malahide and wondering if all home tickets are sold through ticketmaster , or will there be tickets available in outlets in town in the next few weeks? cheers Priority will be given to season ticket holders and to block bookers. Also a certain percentage will be distributed to clubs and other organisations. A large number after that will be placed on sale on ticketmaster and these will be posted out/emailed or can be collected near the stadium on match day

Is this a gid move or should we keep looking. In on Saturday morning oot on sunday.Any feedback wid be grand. Cheers Just to add to the info already given by GTR , the sandymount hotel is always a good place to meet up pre game. It normally has a band playing outside and it's here that a lot of the Ireland supporter clubs meet up pre game. It about 5-10 minute walk to the away end in the aviva and a lot of good bars around the extended area. Couldn't be in a much better place to soak up the prematch atmosphere

ScotsRik
Hey Lads What do you know of the Schoolhouse? Does it attract a pre/post match football crowd? Doesn't seem far from stadium and other bars near stadium but although it seems a good hotel and a decent place to eat, not sure how down to earth the bar is and how popular it will be come match weekend?? Cheers!
Irishandproud
There are loads of watering holes such as gasworks, Slatterys, Berkley court hotel, beggars bush, becky Morgan's, Bath pub and also pubs on baggot St(15min walk or so down to Aviva maybe 20) trust me when I say you won't be long trying to find a pub!
