Irishandproud
Thanks for the ticket offer Irish . Please keep us posted when they become available . No bother at all. As Greenforever says you may be able to set an email notification as to when they go on sale. Offer stands by the way if you end up getting stuck for an irish address

Dhowie5
Already mailed a couple of the Irish guys posting on this thread, but can anyone else advise me if Thomas Street is a good location to stay ?
greenforever
hostels in dublin 2 are a good option, generally 10 in a dorm, very cheap, no need for taxis as you are in the middle of the night club area, you can drink in stephens green park during the day, cheap cans from tescos, avoid temple bar, drink can be twice the price there
gspain
Already mailed a couple of the Irish guys posting on this thread, but can anyone else advise me if Thomas Street is a good location to stay ? Should be fine. Reasonably central. I'd recommend only heading towards the city though from there. Temple Bar is best avoided for prices as people say but it does prove hugely popular with some tourists.

Loads of good bars around the place and come match day the atmosphere will be electric in that area.

McVinceSCT
What about Lower gardiner street, north of the river (not far away from train station)? Is the area great?
Irishandproud
What about Lower gardiner street, north of the river (not far away from train station)? Is the area great? Not particularly to be honest, others might say it's fine but if you are asking if it's a nice part of dublin then the answer is definitely not. McVinceSCT
Thanks. It was the cheapest i found and thought it was well located. 420 for 4 nights for 3 people.
gspain
Lower Gardiner street is near the bus station but not a great area particularly at night. The buildings are quite old too so quality of the B&Bs there may not be the best. Some may be refurbished. You need to factor in the cost of a taxi back to your door from the pub. I would strongly advise you do not walk in this area after dark.
McVinceSCT
I thought location wasn t that bad, we would prefer to walk instead of taxi. Why is the area bad on night? Neds looking for fight? Junkies? Both? More? Anyway, with only the more expensive hotels left, we didn t had many other options... As I have said many times on this thread I would rather stay soutside of the Liffey but that's my preference and most of the places you will be going to more than likely on this side too. Could you really not get anything in ballsbridge? I would certainly stay here ahead of gardiner St that's for sure.

Literally the trinity college, apparently they rent out rooms over the summer and we've got one booked. Good to see that it's an o.k location though!
