wanderer
October in Eastern Europe can be very hit or miss.... Visited Ukraine enough times at that time of year and varies from taps aff and shorts on weather to a couple of feet of snow..... March week before it had been in the mid-high teens, then plummeted the week we showed up. Vienna on route back from Skopje last year was cracking weather in the low 20s and Prague in 2010 was cracking weather (saying that Lichtenstein there was flurries of snow all day.... And only the first day in Zurich was great weather, with it being Baltic the rest of the time).
scottincarlisle
Mild? It was feckin freezing. Hoping for it to be a bit warmer in October. Didn't think it was that cold during the day. Was frozen by second half at match.
wanderer
Didn't think it was that cold during the day. Was frozen by second half at match. It was the ice hold wind that was everywhere you went in the old town during the day that was the killer. In the morning we were walking around in a thin jacket and had to go back to the hotel to put a warmer jacket on, then in the afternoon we were walking around the Jewish Ghetto area and the wind was not there and felt much warmer. It was so cold that ice had formed in one of the squares - with drunken kilted skaters !!!! - Why would you think that because you had skated as a child, 45 years ago, you would be able to perform like Torvil & Dean, despite the 10 pints inside of you. Was very funny - but still got a sore a*se (from the skating) !
