ShedTA
watch for the large Govt grant to heriot watt for keeping quiet, the cracking work they have done.
Toepoke
Timing is certainly sus, although I don't think most people that voted NO did so because they thought the oil was running out. On the positive, gives us more ammo to push for full fiscal autonomy
OLAS
can anyone say they are surprised? Absolutely not. It's nearly been finished since the first barrel was extracted according to Westminister. Some Scots are awfy gullible.

Rossy
Any comment from Sir Ian Wood yet? Yeap. He says that he doesn't know that much about the actual oil, but his company has ordered another 50,000 rolls of toilet paper and half a million paper clips for the rigs, so vote No.
AlfieMoon
Can we compile a list of the things that have appeared post indy that illustrate that we've been buggered here???? More powers for England - Tories making this their main talking point post indyref LabConference - Vote Labour 2015 to save NHS from Privatisation (which apparently wasn't happening last week) Heriott-Watt - Yet more oil potential announced 5 days after indyref! (Yay!) What else?

Pool Q
The announcement of the Oil States jobs at Whiburn. It may have been conditional on a No vote I suppose, but it felt to me like something that had simply been put back for a week to avoid positive news re oil and jobs in the lead up to the vote. peever1745
This is why Cameron went to Shetland the day of the Commonwealth games opening.I think we did try to tell folk this but they would nae listen.
jailender
Do you really think he would have been so thick as to make a "secret" visit to Shetland for that reason. I think even that fanny has more sense than to make that sort of error.

Mitre
Aberdeen would have been sub 30% if this came out prior to the referendum

jailender
I don't have that much faith in the Aberdeen voters
iainmac1
Sub 30% No, I take it? Sub 30% Yes. They voted no while having lots of oil wealth so maybe would have voted even higher no if they had lots and lots of oil wealth.
biffer
Would Shetland not be treated as an enclave under mineral law and as such their waters would only extend twelve miles?
deecie
I can assure you that nobody who works in O&G had or has the slightest concern about it running out anytime soon.
