aaid
Looks like the investigation into Tory expenses at the 2015 General Election could be about to blow. 12 police forces have sent files today to the CPS. From what was on Channel 4 News just now, South Thanet at least looks like a slam dunk to go to trial.

fishcumnock
most likely a re-run.

ErsatzThistle
Don't know if this is true but the suggestion I've read is that it's mostly in seats where UKIP were seen as a serious threat that would split the vote and Tory HQ decided to win at all costs. Each MP under investigation should resign the Conservative Party whip until they are either cleared ....... or jailed.
wheres the pies
they also went for the lib- dem seats in Devon and Cornwall which the tories won around 12 seats they reckon that's where the tories won the 2015 election again tones of Tory cash spent in those areas

I get the impression they are raging as the were told by Tory HQ that it would all be okay. That's no defence but it'll be the MPs who will take the fall. Padre Andrew
12 by elections all on the one day? Any precedent for this? If you were the Tories, would you try and stretch UKIP by holding them all together? Would mean Farage and Nuttall couldn't chance it in more than one. Wasn't there a resignation of all Northern Irelands unionist MP's during the 1980s to fight by elections on constitutional grounds ?

They wouldn't all necessarily be on the same day. I doubt they'll all resign/be sacked en masse. If there wasn't such a god awful opposition, a scandal like this should see the government fall and a General Election.

Oh what a tangled web we weave...
wheres the pies
I see the tories have just been fined £70.000 for there accounting expenses let's hope the wheels have truly come off there battle bus tour

They'd have to be quick as you only have a year after the election or its time-barred..
