  1. Just wondering how many fans Aberdeen are expecting to bring down next Saturday. Looks like Morton will be around the 5000 mark, which is disappointing, would easily have been double that 10 years ago.
  2. We could do worse than a 4 4 2 with Miller and Griffiths up front. I remember thinking the same thing last summer, that strachan should try and talk him out of retirement for the last 4 games of that campaign.
  3. I've entered the Stirling marathon in May. Looks a great route, starting off in the safari park. I mainly do 10K, but feel I need to tick the marathon box. What's the longest any of you marathon runners run before the actual race itself, ive read anything from 18-26 miles and usually 4-6 weeks before.
  4. Iceland were not a terrible side. He got a draw at home to Germany. We beat Netherlands at home . I'd be quite happy to finish just 1 point ahead of a terrible Slovakia side..
  5. I said on another thread that we need 15 more points, that would likely see us 2ND and just avoid the worst runner up spot. That would mean winning our home games and picking up an away win against Lithuania. Under other circumstances it's very doable, but as we've not won against any decent opposition in 2 years I can't see how we're going to suddenly become world beaters.
  6. Looking at previous world cup qualifying groups you pretty much need 12 points outwith points picked up from the bottom side to make the play offs assuming you get second (remember worst 2ND place misses out). Taking that into account and looking at our group I think we need 13 points outwith points gained against Malta in order to finish second and avoid being worst second place team. Therefor we need 12 points from the following matches: - England (h) - England (a) - Lithuania (a) - Slovakia (h) - Slovenia (h) - Slovenia (a) Two years ago and with decent form I'd say it's possible but having not won a game against teams other than bottom seeds in 2 years then I don't see how we can be confident. Winning the group.........pie in the sky stuff. Get a new manager may give us a sniff and some impetus, but likely it's too late. ?
  7. Nonsense. We went to Poland and drew and beat Croatia away. Beat Norway and slovenia away under Smith away, beat Iceland under vogts....shall I go on?
  8. That's an insult to Berti. At least he got us to the play off!!
  9. Ignoring results against Gibraltar and Malta, strachan has won 2 of our last 10 competitive matches. The last of them being 2 years ago......that's right, 2 years since we won a game against anyone of note. His competitive record is around that of Berti Vogt's except Vogts in his only full campaign managed to beat the second seed home and away and draw with Germany.......with far inferior players at his disposal. Our lack of form is alarming. I'm happy to see how tonight goes but a defeat and it's time to move on.
  10. As opposed to everyone else who were having blinders!! At least he was driving forward instead of backwards passing or hopeful crosses into the box.
  11. Have read some critical comments about his performance tonight. I must have been watching a different game as I thought he was by far our most dangerous player.
  12. The problem is he appears to have lost the plot with some of the things he is saying. If we get beat on Tuesday the group is realistically over, better to get someone in asap to plan ahead rather than run the campaign out. No way he deserves another campaign.
  13. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to purchase general sale tickets. Is it just the sfa site and do you have to register? If you have to register I presume it's not an actual membership??
  14. We are rubbish. It wouldn't matter who is in charge tonight. Strachan was spot on during the week when he said we can't even pass the ball. Our players are so far behind technically it is frightening. Teams like Georgia are even technically better, absolutely embarrassing. The whole of Scottish football is in the dark ages. Bah humbug
  15. Implants are the best option for a gap, no question about it. The only drawback is the cost. A straightforward implant will be around 2000-2500. If bone grafting etc is required then it will be more expensive. You don't require 3 implants for a gap with 3 teeth missing for example though, so it won't always work out as the above cost per gap, it may be slightly less. As a dentist I can assure you I get no commission or anything from implant referrals. The reason I or any other dentist would strongly advise against going abroad is mainly due to the fact that if anything goes wrong nobody here will touch them, never mind you can't be quite sure the level of treatment you are receiving. In saying that, I don't blame folk for considering that option as it is really expensive.
  16. Well I've been to many football matches and I've never seen a player do that to the opposing fans. A bit harsh, but I'm sure it's a yellow going by the book. Either way he is a clown, if I was his manager I'd be going through him.
  17. I don't think it's fair that there are people who pay no tax anywhere. If you are away for 60% of the time then pay your rate of tax minus 60%.
  18. Probably deviating a bit here, but one of the things that sticks in my throat a bit is the fact many offshore workers pay zero tax. Now, I understand why that is and the reasons, and of course it's up to the system and not the person. Just a bit annoying each January and July when I'm paying my tax bill that my friends are getting the same amount back in a tax rebate......when our families all use the NHS, education system etc etc. Would it not be fairer if for instance they at least paid half the amount of tax seeing as they are in the country for half the time?
  19. Didn't think it would be someone heterosexual. It's very difficult to contract hiv from heterosexual sex but I suppose if you've pumped 5000 women then you're messing with the odds a bit.......although I suppose it's possible he's got it by some other means.
  20. Mango for me but the only fruit I buy pre cut as its a pain to do,therefore it's reasonably expensive. Kiwi second, good to see I'm not the only one who eats the skin. I'm always arguing with folk about this, they don't believe me when I tell them it's the best bit and one of the most nutritious things you can eat.
  21. Another strangeo one. Definitely doesn't sound like terrorism. Sounds like pilot has attempted some sort of emergency landing
  22. If you read soccernomics (a book that analysis the statistics of football) you'll find it difficult to disagree with the conclusion that managers make very little difference to football results. Apart from the first few matches of a new managers reign then results are pretty much indifferent. They do mentiont there are a few exceptional managers who break the pattern like mourinho but the vast majority make no difference. Unfortunately we are in a horrible generation where fans are far too impatient and the manager merry go rounds are a farce. Strachan has failed but that shouldn't automatically mean he isn't given another chance. I think Scotland can only benefit from continuity from a decent manager, changing manager for the sake of it will just not work.
