village idiot
Mate voting after work is verging on no - 2 reasons he is giving: 'Listened to an impartial economist on newsnight last night who said we will be paying 8/9 pence more in income tax under independence' and 'what about the 400 million cuts to the NHS'? Anybody help - I'm not so good at answering these things. Every vote vital i'd say Cheers
Toepoke
The NHS cuts are efficiency savings which will be ploughed back into the health service. And if anything they are an argument for voting Yes and having full control of our health budget...

Big Dod
What was the "impartial economists" name? On the BBC? Scotland would be running at a lower deficit than rUK. Sounds fishy.
min
The NHS cuts mentioned are in the context of being in the union, not of independence. They will happen in the event of a no vote.
Bristolhibby
Scotland balance of payments would be far healthier than the current rUKs. Why would income tax go up? J

Haggis_trap
Those issues are ones of policy - long term they depend on the governments we elect. Does he want the decision made at Holyrod or Westminster ?

Tartan Eagle
Show him: Iain MacWhirter's Opinion leader in today's Herald - it's titled (as another poster showed) "Westminster will return to business as usual if it's a no" It's all there! Good luck
