Would Utd have a relegation paycut clause in the contracts? If so, might be easier for them to find other clubs.

Apparently there are no relegation related clauses in any of the players contracts. It was discussed on radio after the Derby game and the relegation was made official.

hard to do with the existing players but anyone brought in last year should have had this clause. no wonder they didn't give a f*ck. its like mixu getting a 2.5 year deal - appalling mismanagement.

It seems almost like a belief that relegation couldn't happen. Well most of the supporters could see it as a probability last summer.

Easy there tiger, you seem to have jumped in with both feet there.  All his post said was that he was glad Thompson didn't accept the bids Rangers made, not that Thompson or United were wrong to do so.  But don't let that get in the way of a wee bit of Rangers bashing if it makes you feel better at this difficult time.

Apologies it was in to the original point - as why some rangers fans hate United and ST.  The goodwillie situation and United asking for payment for the postponed game ( which was out of order) and a few other things seem to have contributed to Rangers fans resentment towards United.

It does seem very odd not to cater for this possibility.

Every team in Scotland should have these types of clauses included as standard.

agreed, as I say appalling mismanagement. it may influence some players agreeing to sign but if that's the case you would then question their own belief that they can make a difference. and in that case they can GTF anyway.

Totally agree. It's no different from an annual review that happens at almost every workplace now. In fact it's much fairer as it's less subjective.

It's always annoyed me how players can perform pathetically but the club can't do anything about it.

Good if pointless win for Utd tonight, even if they did their upmost to throw it away.

Interesting to hear Rankin say at the end that it was a relief to be able to get he ball down and pass rather than go long and defend for their lives.  And I think that's been the whole problem - didn't trust themselves to play football.

The bit about the rearranged game is fully understandable.

The Goodwillie bit, is not understandable.

On that postponed game - did Utd really do much wrong?

Fairly certain that the league rules state that if 45 mins played no refund due.

They did reduce prices did they not for the rearranged match?

There would have been the issue of covering the costs for both games too so understandable that some admission charge had to be levied.

Not sure if there any other recent games which have been specifically abandoned at ht to compare Utd's actions against.

United let everybody into the replay for a fiver I think.

We're not dealing with strong thinkers here.

The Rangers v Hearts game that was abandoned due to snow last season?

Not sure at what point in the match it was stopped though.
