I was going to draw a massive phallus on my ballot but fear it may be taken as a vote for Kenny Gibson. As a good friend, comrade, and Socialist is on the list I'll vote Labour on the list and not bother with constituency.

Michael "I have a good relationship with the Orange Order" McMahon & his daughter Siobhan ? Pair of anti-Scottish cünts. Why not vote Green ? You might find this article containing an interview with him very interesting reading. https://www.petergeoghegan.com/2013/07/14/a-nation-once-again/ Quote ‘I don’t think economically or socially independence is a good idea,’ Michael Mahon, a Labour member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Uddingston and Bellshill, a constituency on he outskirts Glasgow with a high concentration of Scots of Irish descent. ‘I say that not because I am an Irish Catholic but because I represent a constituency that I think would be better off in the United Kingdom.’ A former welder, with a broad chest and an easy manner, McMahon speaks fondly of growing up in an Irish household in a mining town in Lanarkshire: ‘It was Irish music, Irish culture. We’d celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, not St. Andrew’s Day’. However, this enthusiasm for all things Irish did not extend to politics. ‘I don’t see this connection between Scottish nationalism and Irish nationalism that some people do. I just don’t get it.’ and later on in the same article Quote Labour MSP Michael McMahon shares this view. ‘When I was a union rep I would go to conferences across the UK and meet people from the same background as me from Newcastle, from Birmingham, from Liverpool, from London. I thought ‘I have more in common with these guys that with a Gaelic speaking crofter from the Western Isles’.’ This guy doesn't even consider himself to be a Scot and yet he is a member of our parliament ! Thinks it's fine to slag off the population of the Western isles and their language into the bargain. I love Ireland and am proud of my Irish heritage but I'm a Scot first and foremost, that's where my loyalties will always lie.

McMahon isn't from Ireland though. He was born in Scotland and I'm assuming his parents were too. They don't have to be born here, wear a kilt and know the works of Robert Burns off by heart but every elected representative to our parliament should have a little loyalty to Scotland and identify with the country. McMahon clearly doesn't. Tommy Sheppard and Phillipa Whitford are two of the best SNP MPs in Westminster and where both born and raised in Northern Ireland. Yet both consider themselves to be Scots now and fully identify with our nation. 17 minutes ago, Scunnered said: Only Scots should be allowed to be elected to the Scottish Parliament? You know that's not what I mean. An MSP should have a wee bit of loyalty to the Scottish people. That's all I'm saying. I don't see what's wrong with that at all. I'd be posting similar remarks if some posh boy Conservative or UKIP nutter was parachuted into a winnable seat from the Home Counties of England and got elected to Holyrood only to disparage Scotland and claim no link at all to us.
