Magnum
I must admit, I didn't watch that much of Hearts last season, and am an Aberdeen Supporter. However, watching Hearts on Sportscene last night, I was really struck by what I saw from Sam Nicholson. This boy really looks to be the real deal and one of the best young players I've seen for a long long time. Just tremendous flair and looks the sort of player that can open up the best of defences. I'm sure others on here will have a greater knowledge of him, but surely has the potential to go far !!
Louch
After watching highlights of one game? All this is missing is "he should be in next squad or strachan should go"
Brassrubber
Sam ,Callum Patterson and Jamie Walker could all go far but need a season or two consistency in the SPL
Scunnered
Sam ,Callum Patterson and Jamie Walker could all go far but need a season or two consistency in the SPL Don't know anything about this Nicholson fella, but Walker is very good. A couple of seasons in the top flight and he'll be ready for a move to Killie.
Parklife
Nicholson looks an excellent prospect. He's always been my pick of the young Hearts players, although Walker seems to get a lot more praise in the media.
dipped flake
Nicholson has more skill than Walker but Walker is usually more effective. great to have the two of them
Kittymeister
Nicholson, Walker and Paterson all have the potential to go far in the game. Hopefully when the inevitable transfer bid comes in they do not end up with one of the Ugly Sisters.
hannibal smith
Nicholson has the potential but needs to be more consistent, was in and out of the team last season with billy king. I think Jordan McGhee will turn out to be the best of the lot of the current crop. Still a young laddie though, Just turned 19.
Pool Q
Agree re McGhee, be interesting to see who ends up partnering Ozturk as the season goes on. Of those getting a game at the moment Walker and Paterson are the best. Noticeable step up in quality of opponent yesterday from last season, and St Johnstone pressed far higher up the pitch which stopped us playing it out from the back. Contributed to Alexander having a nervous breakdown and a lot of hoofball which didn't suit Walker or Nicholson. Walker was better at adapting his game than Nicholson, who mainly looked lost. Bzzzz
Last season I was at the Cowdenbeath v Hearts game at Central Park and was sitting next and chatting to a Man City scout who had come to watch Nicholson. Seems a few clubs are keeping an eye on him. Personally I think Jamie Walker and Callum Paterson are a wee bit further ahead career wise but Nicholson definitely has something. Think that Buaben & Gomis in midfield are weak, Gomis always gives the ball away and is often caught as he is so slow and didn't see Buaben contribute much at all. bruce778
Was very impressed with Nicholson and walker yesterday. If they play like that this season then I see no reason why they couldn't get a move to rangers or to an EPL team for next season.

SMcoolJ
Come on you can do better than that I think it still hurts some more than others!
GaryWood34
Nicholson - Good player but goes missing for weeks on end. Jamie Walker is far more consistant. Billy King for me is every bit as good as the two of them.
GaryWood34
Paterson - Excellent delivery of a ball, never loses a header and scores a few from right back. McHattie - Terrible. Not a footballer. Has had 3 seasons and has got graudally worse, always loses his man, gets skinned, is slow and cant go past a man. McGhee - Not bad, getting there. hannibal smith
just turned down £250k for McGhee from Ipswich Paterson needs to work more on his defensive side, he gets caught napping a lot, like for the 3rd goal on Sunday.
Bzzzz
Quite like the look of the guy McKirdy, worth keeping an eye on I think. Paterson is the strongest out of the youngsters I think. Has the potential to make it I think.
