Fairbairn
Going there for dinner tomorrow evening. Looks good on trip advisor but any experiences? I went last August and it was really nice. It wasn't actually the place I thought it was as I thought we were going to the wee place on the Royal Mile with the branches and fairy lights on the way in (which I now know is called Monteith's!) so I was a wee bit disappointed to find we'd booked the wrong restaurant however the food and service more than made up for it. I had an experience like that when I wanted cheered up so sat down to watch the Nicholas Cage film set in Las Vegas. Turned out it wasn't the film I'd expected, the one with the parachuting Elvises, but to my dismay another one I didn't know about, where he drinks himself to death. ParisInAKilt
Went about 18 months ago, booked it after looking on trip advisor. It was excellent. We went to the Kitchen for lunch the next day but Dubh Prais was probably better.
kps022000
Superb. Easily the best meal I have had in Edinburgh. Not that expensive either, just over a ton including a bottle of wine.

Very reasonable for 6 people. Bit miserly with the one bottle of wine though.
kps022000
There was enough tap water to go round, and why get 6 puddings when you can get a cheese board and give everyone a cracker each.

Khana Lagur
Dubh Prais is indeed a fine eating house But the Snax Cafe at the far end of the Meadows is better.
Pool Q
Snax café most Sunday mornings for breakfast. To be fair that's usually after a run of 10-15 miles.
