My mate wrote to Jim'll Fix It to try and meet her. If he'd got picked it could've been the best & worst day of his life.

Olivia came from quite an intellectual lineage. Her mum's father pioneered nuclear physics and won the Nobel prize, while her dad worked on the Enigma project at Bletchley Park.

I first heard of Olivia Newton John when her cover version of George Harrison's "If not for you" came out, in 1971 I think.  She was an absolute stunner.  Sad to hear of her death although I don't think it's entirely a shock given her health issues over the last thirty years.
