Each nation voted for five players and ranked them numerically. Note: I've included the votes cast but the total number of votes can be misleading sometimes. For example, Kenny Dalglish finished in second place in 1983 with seven votes ahead of Gordon Strachan who got ten votes because Dalglish got more second place votes than Strachan.
