Scots and the "Ballon d'Or"

Recommended Posts

Timewasting thread of the day

Ever wondered how many Scots players picked up votes for the "Ballon d'Or" down the decades ?

Each nation voted for five players and ranked them numerically.

Note: I've included the votes cast but the total number of votes can be misleading sometimes. For example, Kenny Dalglish finished in second place in 1983 with seven votes ahead of Gordon Strachan who got ten votes because Dalglish got more second place votes than Strachan.

Pretty depressing that our players received a vote almost every year until 1987, and we haven't had one vote since 😕

The available data of players who received votes only goes up to 2009.

I'm quietly confident that Andy Robertson will would have gotten at least one vote in the last two years.
