shaggycoo
The draw for the second round (play-offs) will be held on 17 October 2017, 14:00 CEST (UTC+2), at the FIFA headquarters in Zürich, Switzerland.[26] The eight teams will be seeded by FIFA World Rankings published on 16 October 2017, with the top four teams in Pot 1, and the remaining four teams in Pot 2. Teams from Pot 1 play teams from Pot 2 on a home and away basis, with the order of legs decided by draw. The first legs will be played on 9–11 November, and the second legs will be played on 12–14 November 2017. The winner of each tie will qualify for the World Cup. McTeeko
Magic, I'm off that day. Means I don't need to sneak off the factory floor to quickly book the away leg flights before the rush and price rise ??

You reckon Northern Ireland will catch Germany and win their group then? ? Edited September 26, 2017 by Texas Pete

Based on current ranking, NI are the 5th best out of the European 2nd place teams - ironically the team in front of them is Slovakia!! Wales are the 2nd best after Portugal so if they make the playoffs then they will be seeded.

They'll be hoping we win our next two games.
bossman4
NI also need Iceland and Wales to fail to make playoffs as well I think
shaggycoo
To be honest I just ripped the info off the FIFA ranking & Europe qualification site. No idea who will be ranked where after the next round of matches. Looks like Wales will be a shoe in to be seeded providing they stay in 2nd and avoid finishing as worst place runners up, which given they are away to Georgia and home to Ireland is hardly a cast iron guarantee. As mentioned, NI might need favours to be seeded in the playoffs.
