Cove_Sheep
The rocks would melt under the Sun and Strichen lake would disappear before I took a seat in the House of Lords

iainmac1
It's SNP policy to not take seats in the House of Lords so this is hardly surprising.
swifty's cakes
Where's that from Cove? Interview on Sky News in the last hour. Salmond was in great form. I think he could be even more effective without the shackles of being First Minister.
davetenerife
I hope and pray that Alex Salmond would never accept an invitation to become one of those parasites. If he ever did recieve an invite I would hope that he would make it public and humiliate them with his refusal.
kumnio
Salmond would never accept it, not a hope in hell.

min
I believe salmond has already stated that he'll be standing for re-election as an MSP in 2016. He'll be around for a while yet.
Pool Q
Re-iterated that he would' take a peerage on the Sunday Politics too. Made it clear that he would stay in politics as well.
King Of Paisley
If there was another referendum in the foreseeable would love to think Alex would be one of the movers and shakers in a Yes campaign.

Really? That's good news. I just assumed he was quitting altogether as in we would have a by-election. Didn't know he was continuing as an MSP. Cabinet position then surely?
