We were recently told we had to wash our company cars weekly as they were giving customers a poor impression. Think you have to prove that they knew about it and didn't repair the hole as I believe they use the "we did t know about it" as their legal defence. They cant ant be held responsible for holes which haven't been reported.

Arsenale and the via Garabaldi area are good for bars away from the tourist areas. We generally judged a bar on the price of a half litre of wine and that area was good. The area round about the university is also worth a shout. Buy a pass for the vaparetto and just jump on and off. One of the services just goes up and down the grand canal zig zagging from side to side, if the weather is good it's a great way to spend an few hours.
