Flora MaDonald
Did the daily record mention this at all. I've noticed they have reverted to type recently and become an anti SNP rag again. No.

ErsatzThistle
John Nicolson tweeted a brilliant pic a few days ago from Westminster. Every day a big pile of Daily Record's are left in the Commons reading room for MP's. However since May no-one's been reading them, they just lie there untouched all day until the staff put them in the recycle bin Evidently was the paper of choice for Alexander, Murphy, Curran, Hood, Davidson, Sheridan, Sarwar etc.

Watsoniansfan
When the writer after whom this column is named described the unspoken codes and rules of the British state, he called them “the English constitution”. But it is the English constitution. The pre-1707 Scottish state took on the 1689 English constitution and inherited the English international treaties whereas the newly formed UK did not inherit the previous Scottish treaties. ErsatzThistle
There was a kind of EVEL mini-debate in between different stages of the housing and planning bill today. The usual Tory MP's from the home counties that possess genuinely venomous anti-Scottish attitudes made an appearance - Anne Main, Simon Hoare, Graham Stuart and Sir Gerald Howarth. Look up their speeches on Hansard, they absolutely hate us, as far as these individuals are concerned, we are a colony. And you guessed it, yet again, the wee fud that is Alberto Costa made another appearance. About nine times out ten since been elected MP for South Leicestershire, he's spoken solely on Scottish issues and to attack the SNP ........ a big issue in South Leicestershire. Fair play to Labour's David Winnick who spoke a few words in support of the SNP. Finally, Ian Murray couldn't resist throwing a wee "SNPBad" tantrum .......... Ian Murray (Edinburgh South) (Lab):I am delighted the hon. Gentleman has given way, because no SNP Members have participated in the Bill proceedings. We agree that this process is a complete charade, but while I was voting at 2.45 am last week on behalf of my constituents, he was in his bed.Pete Wishart:Maybe. It is with great fascination that we hear from the one and only Scottish Labour Member of Parliament. Perhaps the reason why the hon. Gentleman is in such a diminished position is the Labour party’s silence on these issues. The fact that Labour Members have ignored them all the way through speaks volumes about the attitude of the Labour party. I do not know whether it is due to the particular chaos it is going through, but we need to hear from Labour Members to find out their view about what has happened.Alison Thewliss (Glasgow Central) (SNP):Speaking as someone who was here in the wee small hours, I can say that Labour Members were notable for their absence, being far too busy clawing their own eyes out at the time. It is a bit of a cheek for them to seek to lecture us here. Edited January 12, 2016 by ErsatzThistle
