spud1982
At the start off qualifying who would off been happy If we took 6pts from gib lost twice to Germany and took 4pts from Poland and Ireland. If we beat Poland, there's only 1 result we could off hoped/expected for better.think our rivals taking points off Germany really hasn't helped

Barney Rubble
Time we got our head out from up our own backsides in terms of what is an acceptable standard of results. To qualify for tournaments you must win the must win games - which means home and away to any team below us in the rankings. All home games must be won irrespective of opposition, and draws away to teams above us in the rankings. For too long we've been accepting mediocrity, and although this campaign has been a step in the right direction, the last three games have shown we are still coming up short. scottincarlisle
We had to go to Dublin & win, plus not lose in Georgia.

Apart from Georgia on Friday, all our results went pretty well, but what really scuppered us was Poland beating Germany and Ireland drawing with Germany. Again it's Germany's fault. Auld_Reekie
We had to go to Dublin & win, plus not lose in Georgia. If we had to go Dublin and win, we sure as hell had to go to Georgia and win. We've got a mentality that's arse for tit at times, especially when we cross into Eastern Europe. Why is Georgia a trickier tie than Ireland?
Parklife
That's pretty much what I was saying in a post somewhere earlier today. Apart from Georgia on Friday, all our results went pretty well, but what really scuppered us was Poland beating Germany and Ireland drawing with Germany. Again it's Germany's fault. If we'd won in Georgia, then 2 wins in our last 2 games would have secured 2nd. Regardless of Poland having beaten Germany.
fringo
If we'd won in Georgia, then 2 wins in our last 2 games would have secured 2nd. Regardless of Poland having beaten Germany. We could have both results go our way though and also Ireland not drawing v Germany. See my original post with reference to before/after Friday. Those two Germany results came earlier in the group and already made it more difficult. Everyone seems to have forgotten the importance off Germany dropping points to our closest rivals. The Georgia result just made it even worse when we could have been cruising.
Donaldo87
2 points out of 12 away from home. Can't blame anyone apart from ourselves
ParisInAKilt
Results wise Georgia away definitely is the hardest one to take but the performances recently have been so poor, Ireland away and obviously Friday night. That's why the board is a like a morgue at the moment but will pick up nearer Poland and we're a good team again if we win that one. But regardless of results we're being left behind by the majority of Europe almost with each year. That won't change whatever happens next month
Pete Gas
2 points out of 12 away from home. Can't blame anyone apart from ourselves Gone behind in all of them, won't be surprised if Gibraltar make it 5 out of 5.
