" Wild Mountain Thyme"

Oh, the summer time is coming,

And the trees are sweetly blooming,

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the blooming heather.

Will you go, lassie, will you go?

Chorus:

And we'll all go together

To pluck wild mountain thyme

All around the blooming heather

Will you go, lassie, go?

I will build my love a bower

By yon clear and crystal fountain

And all around the bower,

I'll pile flowers from the mountain.

Will you go, lassie, will you go?

If my true love, she won't have me,

I will surely find another

To pull wild mountain thyme

All around the blooming heather.

Will you go, lassie, will you go?

Oh, the summertime is coming

And the trees are blooming

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the blooming heather.

Will you go, lassie, will you go?

yep Ormond was written by Kirsty maccolls auld man and made famous by the Dubliners. think every Irish pub I have been in scotland the local folk singers usually give a rendering of this song. heard it in the Scotsman bar in Edinburgh last time I was there.

flure that list should cover the first half of the evening

Given that there'll be lots of Irish chaps and chapesses there as our hosts, I suspect they may have a wee list of their own.
