Bino's
The Syrian army are using these things indiscriminately against the civilian population in the free Syria area About 20,000 civilians have been killed by these and it has gone largely or almost entirely unreported by the western media as would detract from our now focus against IS Over time, regime forces have refined their use of the barrel bomb to cause maximum damage - dropping one device and then waiting 10 to 30 minutes to drop another bomb on the same location. According to opposition activists, the aim is to ensure that those who flood the scene to rescue the victims are then themselves killed We are sitting back and watching this on our pedestal of righteousness as usual http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Syrian_Civil_War_barrel_bomb_attacks
Bino's
im sorry but it is horrifying what is happening here and is a war crime but with no comment in the media let alone action https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=barrel+bomb&biw=1440&bih=806&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=AKKaVMeRBob8yQSTx4DoAw&ved=0CCcQsAQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrel_bomb

phart
Yeah weapons of war are shyte, from barrel bombs , depleted uranium to white phosphorus to cluster bombs and landmines. Why pick Syria for the test case though? Israel uses experimental weapons on the Palestinians, we use depleted Uranium in residential areas, the Americans used all of these plus white phosphorus and a new type of napalm which is a lot more deadly than home-made barrel bombs. Drones with all sorts of armaments. Which countries political system is dominated by arms sellers and seem to love starting conflicts to sell them. phart
Interesting reading... https://bbcpanoramasavingsyriaschildren.wordpress.com/ There were loads of bullshit accounts to try and justify the war with Syria, it's total nonsense. Fortunately less folk get duped as there are other routes of information now. I wouldn't want Assad as my leader mind you, this isn't tacit approval of him. Scouse Eddie
Watched a programme last week about a British doctor who goes to Syria for a few weeks at a time to help out. He was talking about the barrell bombs and the damage they cause when they go off. Dont know much about the war in Syria and who is fighting who but i just know we all live in such a mixed up sad world. ,

The number of discoveries that have been accelerated because of war is incalculable. Some good some bad. You need to look a bit closer to home to see who the initial exponents of these types of weapons are. During the American Civil War and the Great war landmines were all the rage, now look at them, totally unloved.
TartanTeddy
Was flicking through the channels on TV last week and hit David Cameron reeling of a list of weapons and weapon upgrades he was promising and he was falling over his words with excitement listing shite like hunter killer subs and state of the art surface to air missiles. It was truly disgusting to watch, and really made me feel ashamed that my tax money is going to buy tis crap which at some point he is going to feel compelled to use to clear inventory to allow another wad of cash t go to the arms companies. We sit right up there beside the worst of them for throwing bombs and bullets into civilian areas, something we should never forget! TT PS Not in any way condoning the use of barrel bombs in Syria! EddardStark
Radio 4s PM programme devoted their show last night to a doctors account of his time in a hospital in Allepo. The injuries from the impact of barrel bombs just too horrific to describe.
