Stapes
Was amazed how influential his Mad Dogs and Englishmen thing was. As Neilser says, what a voice.
Toepoke
Can only echo the sentiment here. Bryan Burnett played With A Little Help... when I was driving up the road tonight, shivers down the spine it's such an amazing performance. Died the on the same date as that other famous Joe, Joe Strummer...
Scouse Eddie
Watched him a few times when he was on the undercard to Rod Stewart in concert. Great voice and sadly missed

The Laud
joe cocker was the only one i can think of that sang a remake of a song which was better than the original. Maybe eva cassidy had one as well. Anymore out there?
Charlie Endell
Hmmm. I don't think it was a very good song in the first place and I never dug Joe's vocal histrionics. There are plenty of examples of cover versions that surpass the original e.g. All Along the Watchtower - there was even a thread on that very subject on here recently. Flora MaDonald
I think it was G-man who posted Springsteen doing The Drifters' Save the last dance for me - that was a class cover.
