  1. Absolutely, no arguments from me on that score In my view there is more than just a sniff of that right now. It’s a distinct possibility even though Celtic are probably still favourites.
  2. Was watching the Scottish Cup final last season in the pub, full of Celtic fans and to be honest the full time reaction was mostly relief before the celebrations properly kicked in, as we all knew Hearts should’ve (or at least could’ve) been lifting the trophy. Then the news came through that Lennon was appointed and that killed the celebrations stone dead (well, almost). But the fact that the edge was taken off the celebrations and the air of disappointment was palpable. Last night was the manifestation of what everyone that day knew (consciously or subconsciously) what was going to happen. The only people to blame for this is Celtic FC. The board, the manager and yes the players too. Even with a shambolic and bizarre team selection they ought still have had the nous and ability to see that game out having had two chances to do so. But both times we took the lead, you could just tell we’d ship another goal and it would probably end in a draw. I’ll give us the benefit of the doubt for the fourth goal as we had no option but to pile forward and leave gaps at the back - it was a risk-free gamble as the loss of that goal mattered not a jot, but to concede the other three was criminal and just reeked of complacency. Seemed that they got in front and thought job done, let’s get out of here. Lennon has to shoulder the majority of the blame though, which in turn makes Lawwell and the rest of the penny pinching board culpable. They appointed him.
  3. Toasters. Why can’t they make them just a couple of inches deeper so that they will accept your average piece of bread and toast it in its entirety? Instead we have the top inch or so left white and untoasted. Surely this isn’t beyond the wit of man?
  4. This is definitely true. Winning penalties is going to be a legitimate tactic from next season. Make contact with an outstretched foot/leg, flick the ball into an opponent’s arm, bump into a player attempting a legitimate challenge, etc. Penalties will now be something to play for instead of being fairly awarded having been the victim of a foul. And there will be little or no tackling or challenging in the box as it’s now simply too dangerous. It will be a case of trying to shepherd an attacking opponent away from danger. It’s going to become very boring.
  5. Clumsy, aye possibly. Soft, yes absolutely but surely that’s not a foul? It’s not basketball and there’s always going to be contact in football. Given the nonsense that VAR has already caused in this World Cup, then having such a major impact on the final, well it’s certainly appropriate.
  6. The ball was there to be won, the challenge was wholly within control and the American lassie clattered into her foot. That’s not a penalty in a million years. It’s certainly not a clear and obvious error not to award it. VAR has had way too big an impact on this tournament and has decided things which are at best highly debatable and far from clear. The system is going to completely run the game.
  7. Appalling penalty decision. If this is the future of VAR in football then the game is fucked.
  8. The decision not to award a penalty in that incident was 100% correct.
  9. Nobody should think they’re guaranteed a ticket for a home game at Hampden because we aren’t guaranteed tickets for home games at Hampden.
  10. Offside. How come these never go our way when we need them?
  11. You said well all be happy with it you’d bet. I’m saying that’s ridiculous.
  12. Who would ever take a defeat before a ball is kicked? Crazy. We’re not San Marino or Liechtenstein. We may not be the best, hell we’re not even the best Scotland team there’s ever been, but Jesus Christ we’re surely always in with a shout of snatching even a draw against anyone? No doubt it’s going to be tough and they’d beat us 8 times out of 10, but why can’t tonight be one of the 2? I suspect a few on here would’ve taken a 2-0 defeat in France before Faddy got involved. Never accept defeat until you’re defeated.
  13. Except he is none of those things. You knew that already though and you’re doing your usual boring wee routine.
  14. 7.45pm, but your point still stands Its pretty desperate
  15. Agree completely. Make it a tenner and get a decent crowd. That’s more important than making a few quid. Im not bothered that I paid for season ticket already, just do whatever it takes to get bums on seats on Saturday.
  16. We were only ever guaranteed tickets for games played at Hampden anyway. But now that guarantee has been removed, so we’re guaranteed nothing any more.
  17. Jesus that’s really poor. I’m hoping the north stand is sold out rather than the middle sections just not being on sale yet. Its hard to tell which areas are sold out and which are not even on sale yet. Seems the apathy towards the team and resentment towards the SFA runs deeper than just having had a shite manager. Understandably so in my opinion Hope we get a big boost in the final few days or it’ll be like a morgue in there next Saturday.
  18. Dreadful mistake. Rangers will be boosted by this news. Celtic have been very poor since February with only one or maybe two really great performances. The rest have been between mediocre and just about acceptable with some rotten chucked in for luck. We've limped across the line in the league and were very unconvincing today. Hearts could’ve taken the cup back along the M8 but for a couple of mistakes. We created next to nothing all afternoon. I was actually thinking it was the ideal situation today at full time, treble treble in the bag but with such an unconvincing performance at least the board would see one final clear solid reason not to offer Lennon the job. Massive error, the cheap option, which has just given Rangers the shot in the arm they needed before a penny is spent. I fully expect us to penny pinch again in the summer and for Lennon not to challenge this.
  19. Even by recent SFA standards this is absolutely staggering and completely baffling. How? Just fucking how?
  20. I can and I am. Perhaps you should re-read my post and understand what I am actually saying. Clue: I’m not comparing EPL with SP nor am I saying SP is as good.
  21. Exactly. The EPL isn’t the best league in the world, it’s the best promoted and marketed league in the world. The things that supposedly make it brilliant are the exact same things that supposedly make our league Mickey Mouse. The chasing pack have indeed been poor and the top two just kept on winning until they were 25 points clear of the rest. It came down to just one point between the top two in the end with the title changing hands a couple of times during the day. We could be talking about our league there more than once, but that lot down south make it out to be some incredible once in a lifetime show of magic.
  22. City deserved champions and credit to Liverpool for putting up such a fight. Incredible to think that 97 points isn’t enough to win the title. Both sides miles ahead of the rest of the league and they’ve served up an incredibly exciting run-in. Pundits are drooling over all of this with many pointing out this is what makes the EPL the best in the world. But...... When it happens in Scotland (and it has happened several times in the last 15 years or so) then EXACTLY the same scenario, EXACTLY the same exciting finish has been used to demean Scottish football and as proof it’s a Mickey Mouse league. The salivating and virtual wanking over the title race in England has gone into overdrive. Whereas when it happens up here it’s proof our league is shite. Which is it to be? It can’t be both.
  23. Instead of the papers writing up a match report, your two sentences is all that requires to be said. And the exact opposite can be said of us today. The only thing worse than the performance was the attitude of most of the players.
  24. Fair play Rangers. Took us apart today. 👏👏👏👏 But next season with a better manager don’t be expecting anything too much now will you? 👍😉
