  1. Got my first season ticket at Accies in 1987 when I was 13. 30 years, 6 relegations and 6 promotions later I'm still going. Need my head looked at.
  2. Two of us booked Mon-Wed, out via Frankfurt, back via Charleroi by a combination of Ryanair & Wizz, £92 return. Happy days
  3. Stay. There are four train stations around Hampden, its half a mile from a motorway, and a 30 min walk from the biggest train station in the UK outside London. Not sure what better transport links people want.
  4. Wales have just scored in Georgia. Bugger.
  5. Plenty of other much quieter train stations close to Hampden. It’s not Hampden’s fault people choose to stand in a huge queue at the closest station rather than walking to Kings Park, Cathcart, Crosshill or even Rutherglen. Last few games we’ve walked 20 mins to Rutherglen, a pint in the Wetherspooons there, and then a train from there. Much easier and much more civilised.
  6. #savethetamb Like others, I would be more than happy to pay a small monthly contribution to help the running costs. Every other message board or forum I've known that's moved onto social media has collapsed due to it becoming fragmented and rival sites being set up. Just look at the mess that is the 50 different Tartan Army facebook pages, with new ones being set up all the time whenever anybody falls out with somebody. This is the original, and we should do all we can to save it.
  7. Game v Brazil on live on Bein Sports 6 just now, with Arabic commentary
  8. Its the easiest thing in the world to run a VPN and hide your IP address. As long as you can print off the tickets at home or get them sent to your hotel, happy days.
  9. I would agree with the comment about it being one of the drunkest away trips for a while. There's an old square (Place de la Reina, off memory) that we hung about a lot in. A good Irish pub, a few local bars, and also has a church that (allegedly) is where the Holy Grail is. We stayed in a youth hostel about 2 mins walk away from that square. Also agreed with going to the Mestalla - we went, there was no stadium tour or anything, but you were allowed to just wander in and take a few photos in the stadium yourself. Manolo's pub is just across the road, went in for a couple of pints and he was brand new. Loved Valencia, definitely a place I would like to go back to. We finished off our trip with the high speed train to Madrid (2 hours), a tour of the Bernabeu, and then a cheap flight home from Madrid. Great fun.
  10. I was going to go along as a neutral with my wee boy (Accies fans, live within walking distance of Fir Park), but Dundee United wanted £9 booking fees for me to buy two tickets from them. I declined, so we'll watch it on the telly or go to Wishaw Juniors or something.
  11. Agree, Vilnius is superb. One of my favourite places to go to with Scotland.
  12. Phone Sky, give notice that you want to cancel (its a 28 day notice period), and as soon as you hang up the phone, log into your Sky account and there will be a 40%-50% off for a year offer to entice you to stay. If you dont accept that, they will phone you constantly during the 28 day notice period throwing offers at you begging you to stay. Brings the cost down to something much more reasonable.
  13. Alex Taylor was indeed a superb player - at Accies for only a year or two, but absolutely brilliant. Talking to people who knew him, he just didn't enjoy playing football and was more into triathlons. Football was just his job, which is probably why he eventually chucked it. Great pity.
  14. Another thing that might happen is this - my wee man is eight, has been going with me to Accies on and off for a couple of years, and has now decided that he doesn't want to go to home games anymore but wants to go to every away game. His reasoning is that home games are terrible and boring (which they usually are), but he loves the whole experience of travelling to away games wherever they happen to be - planning what trains to get, having some juice & crisps on the train (whilst daddy has some "grown up" juice), having lunch in a local pub at the away venue, and then the game is usually a better atmosphere as away fans often make more noise than home fans. He just loves the whole day out.
  15. I think that's the biggest issue. Glasgow has now become out of bounds on Hogmanay this year, which is a real shame.
  16. That's exactly what we'll be doing. Head over to Trafalgar Square, and if it seems inappropriate to be there, leave and head to a pub. The Sports Cafe on Haymarket is only a couple of mins walk from there, so that will probably be our plan B.
  17. Three of us on exactly the same route as you going home. Looking forward to that 4.30am alarm call the day after the game
  18. Ross McLaren was a promising defender, but had to give up the game as a young lad when Dougie Imrie (then at Clyde) accidentally stamped on his neck whilst they were both going in for a tackle. It was horrible watching the game get abandoned and an ambulance sitting parked on the pitch pumping his chest. He survived, but had to retire straight away. A real shame as he looked pretty decent. I think he made a comeback a few years later in the juniors, but couldnt be sure.
  19. Glasgow-Paris-Malta on the Friday, same again on the way back on Monday. Have a six hour layover in Paris on the way out, so will head down to the Auld Alliance on the Friday afternoon for a few, if anyone's about.
  20. You can't pick your seats on the mobile version, and switching to desktop mode doesn't work. Presumably it's flash based, or something archaic like that. Stop offering me seats down the front behind the goals, why the feck would any sane individual want to sit there ????? At least let me choose front, middle or back, if a seat map is beyond them on a mobile phone. Giving the SFA £500 of my money shouldn't be so hard.
  21. 29 minute queue on the website now. Fecks sake
  22. Hi Watershed - please remove our three from the reserve list, we've manage to make other arrangements. Thanks
  23. Hi Paul - could we have three seats on the bus please ? Thanks Scott
