Angus_Young
Anyone else a fan? One of my favourite bands growing up. My mate who I travel to Scotland games with has booked them for later in the year. Playing at The Town Hall in October. Only holds 650 so it should a cracking gig. 360 tickets sold already.
wanderer
Love that they do these out the way gigs these days caught them in Killie last year and was a cracking night
Charlie Endell
They're Alright. Sounds a decent gig, but last train from Alloa to civilisation is sharpish (or at least it used to be). I saw the Charlatans at Paisley Town Hall and it was excellent - I'd imagine Alloa TH would work just as well, although I've only been in it for weddings, 40ths and the like. Went to see Ash in Montrose on Friday, they were magic! Really enjoyed The Amorettes who supported them. Not as good as last time I saw Ash.... Isle of Wight festival, watched their 20 year anniversary gig in a tent and then emerged to watch Pirlo dink his penalty and knock England out of Euro 2012 in front of a very large England support groaning at the big screen. Squirrelhumper
Seen them quite a few times. Including once at the academy when Power lost his voice and a fan stood in for him!

Fairbairn
While I didn't mind Cast back in the day I could never really get in to them. Shed 7 were more my preference of those kind of bands. Going to see them, supported by Inspiral Carpets, at The Barras in December.

I saw Rick Witter, performing in a pub in Doncaster about 9 years ago, think he had a new band, but they still performed Shed Seven stuff - he was off his face, looked coked up. Only about 30 folk there... great gig though!

It's always near Christmas and always a cracking gig. I've also got the Happy Mondays in November which I am less than convinced will be as enjoyable! Maq
I've also got the Happy Mondays in November which I am less than convinced will be as enjoyable! I think it's Black Grape they're touring as - 20th anniversary of "its great when you're straight" (loved that album!) - I saw Happy Mondays, or whatever they were called, last year, it was.... fun! Fairbairn
I think it's Black Grape they're touring as - 20th anniversary of "its great when you're straight" (loved that album!) - I saw Happy Mondays, or whatever they were called, last year, it was.... fun! It's definitely the Mondays as it's the "Thrills, Pills....." album they're doing. About 2 weeks after we got the tickets I saw an advert about the Black Grape reunion too. If I were a cynical man I'd maybe think Mr Ryder had a tax bill or something similar to pay...... Edited May 27, 2015 by Fairbairn
Maq
Ah ok - great, I might try and go along to at least 1 of them edit: just checked, it's £32 for Happy Mondays tickets, £22 for Black Grape..... Black Grape it is then! Edited May 27, 2015 by Maq
UPROAR
love that era and music..... would love to see Shed7 sometime soon. For some reason though I developed an irrational dislike of Cast - always seemed like whiney, annoying and irrelevant music...

Maq
Aye, I see Shed Seven are also playing down here soon..... and the Bluetones (though I can only remember about 3 of their songs) - I went to see them in Aberdeen about 18 years ago!

Last saw Shed Seven when they did a Xmas gig in Dunfermline about 3 years ago, the year of the really bad snow. Great gig, always entertaining, always good live. I've also got the Happy Mondays in November which I am less than convinced will be as enjoyable! Going to see them in November too but doing the Newcastle Sat night gig, looking forward to it. Again saw them last about 3 years at TITP and they were dreadful. Only person more melted than Shaun Ryder at that gig was myself.

I remember seeing the Complete Stone Roses and Neville Staple but my brain must have just shut down when the Mondays came on!
