ATAC
http://www.associationoftartanarmyclubs.com/2019/03/02/astana-match-day-buses/ The Association of Tartan Army Clubs (ATAC) have been liaising with the Embassy in Astana and the local Mayors office re transportation on match day in Kazakhstan. Whilst we recognise that local taxis are relatively inexpensive, we have also considered the number of folks trying to find their way back into the centre at 11.p.m. Accordingly the Mayor's office have agreed to provide a number of buses for Scottish supporters. The return trip has a cost we believe of less than £1. ATAC have agreed that we will charge £2 per person return with any surplus monies going to our friends at the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal - it will also cover any buses not running at capacity. Discussions with the Embassy are ongoing to identify a suitable location and departure time in the City Centre - those registering interest in the buses will be advised. Expectation is that this will be adjacent to the "Old Town" with bars and restaurants close by. As soon as we have nay further information we will publish it through here and in across our social media channels. Details should also be on our Sporran guide to be published ahead of the game. Our member club WESTA have agreed to co-ordinate on behalf of ATAC. DoonTheSlope
Astana Buses Departure and Payment Information We are pleased to advise of the following arrangements for match transfers in Astana. Departure – Be at buses at 1845 for a 1900hrs departure to stadium. We are allowing plenty of time for traffic, security arrangements at the stadium and any ticket collection. Please note that this is a national holiday in Astana and the city and departure area are expected to be busy Location - in front of the Congress Hall off Kenesary Street This is on the Right side of the river, although no-where in Astana can be described as ‘old’ this is the older side. We suggest that you check out the departure area before you go exploring – to help we have listed a number of bars in the area at the bottom of this page. At the moment we have NINE buses, we will mail you next week with your bus number and a map detailing departure point. Return from stadium – we have arranged TWO DROP OFF LOCATIONS DROP OFF ONE -Baiterek Tower, this is in the new part of the city, Left side of the river, there are a large number of hotels in this area, maybe have a look to see if this would suit you. DROP OFF TWO - Congress Hall – the departure point Luggage – we have arranged that luggage can be left on the buses NOTE they will be ‘service buses’ with no hold, so no valuables and the transport company will accept no responsibility. Payment – the arrangements have been co-ordinated by our member club WESTA and they are also collecting the payments. We really don’t want to be collecting on the day and ask that you arrange a bank transfer from you or your group, £2 pp with any surplus going to the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal. Payment by bank transfer to the account below, when making payment please use the following reference – Your surname, number of seats and KAZ…so for example if Bob Smith were paying for two seats it would read… Smith 2 KAZ . The account is with Bank of Scotland and is calledWESTA Travel . The details are: Sort Code: 80 54 01 Acc No: 060 830 99 Each bus will have a Steward, they will be wearing a WESTA Hi Viz vest to identify them, after the match they will also have signs to assist folks back to the buses. We are confident that everyone can play with Google (others are available J) so look at the departure location (we will send a map) and then pick out your ‘lunch stop’ from the list below. There are others - Bars and pubs in old town (right bank of the river): · Draft – 27, Tashenov Street and another is at 25, Beibitshilik Street · Beerhoff – 44, Kenesary Street · Harat's Irish Pub – 2, Zheltoksan Street, Grand Alatau · Bochonok – 75, Kenesary Street · Pinta Pub – 8, Auezov Street · Line Brew – 20, Kenesary Street · Chaplin bar – 11, Barayev Street These are very local places: · Klava Davai – 56, Beibitshilik Street · Panaehali – 20, Zhirentayev Street · Sivyi Merin – 75, Kenesary Street · Svoi – 24, Zhumabayev Street If you are only returning on the buses – or miss them (it happens) then after the match, board the bus number which we will send to you next week. IF YOU NO LONGER WISH TO JOIN THE BUSES PLEASE LET US KNOW, WE DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR TOO MANY BUSES.
