  1. At the rate we are losing players to injury we will be struggling to find 26 !☹️
  2. Don't go there re setting up a team for damage limitation !!! I was there with my pal in Prague when levein didn't play one person up front. And they weren't that good at the time and were for the taking. He's not a bad guy and very entertaining at after dinner stuff but find it hard to forgive him for that - it was like he'd forgotten the TA worked to pay to be there. Just can't see Clarke being that negative but let's be honest a draw would be a great result.
  3. A part day trip sounds like a braw idea maybe on the Thursday, It looks like an hour by train from Munich. Does anyone know if there is anything there ? ie a pub or two !!! Me and my pal arrive on the Wednesday so if anyones up for it think wed go for it as long as we could get back for the Munich atmosphere mid to late afternoon. Could be a hoot.
  4. Similar but I find Starling brilliant abroad. Best exchange rates etc. They kinda made foreign travel one of it's key launch benefits. Son uses Revolut too and likes - it not having a UK banking licence also makes me prefer Starling but that's probably just my paranoia. The set up of a starling account puts the high street banks to shame - I had the account set up process done in a few minutes including them verifying my ID through a wee video. Account was opened in a few hours and I had the card the next day. Sure Revolut is similar but it allows you to divvy up your money into wee envelopes to say what it's for (like mini accounts) and your spending is allocated. I now use it to transfer my monthly spending money too so the wife cannae see how much Im spending in the pub !
  5. Brilliant !!!😂😂😂😂😂
  6. Agreed. That should have been in fact was one of the best scotland goals ever and a career highlight for Scott. Feel very bitter about it.
  7. I've read that a few times in different ways. Does it mean as well as the other drinks:- a-including normal beer there will be non-alcoholic beer, or b-there will be non-alcoholic beer but no normal beer ? I didn't think alcoholic beer was allowed in stadiums and every time we thought we were drinking beers it was actually zero or close to it alcohol stuff. I'd hate anyone to think beer is important to me or anything like that ! 😉
  8. Me and my pal doing the same. Just for one night though.
  9. Good effort! - (glad it's no just us likely to get slagged off for going first especially when we are likely to be in the bistro/bar most of the trips). We are:- Munich to Leipzig Leipzig to Koln via Frankfurt Koln to Nuremberg and Nuremberg to Stuttgart For about £170 (1st) plus the Deutsch Bahn ticket at 40 euros. The 4 day rail pass was coming in at £268. One bit of downside is the Nuremberg to Stuttgart train (is the only one) without a bar. It's an hour and 10 minutes so don't know how we'll cope ! Hope Deutsch Bahn have their bevy well stocked !
  10. Think I posted this elsewhere but if you are using the trains look at buying a trial bahn card 25 or 50 card which gives 25% or 50% off. you can get one valid for three months but you need to remember to cancel it within (I think) four weeks of using it other wise it reverts to an annual card. Worked out a lot cheaper for us than rail passes. 2nd class card is €20 1st class is €40. We went for the 25. Just be careful when you are booking as you need to indicate you have the card under the passenger/person travelling bit but after that it's a synch.
  11. Just for anyone else using the train a good bit: we've started booking out tickets (the window around the first two games has just opened) and we've found for what we're doing the "trial bahn 25 card" works out cheaper (about 100 Euros cheaper) than doing our itinerary via a 4 or 5 day country pass. The trial card costs 39.90 Euros and gives you 25% off (Don't take the pish but this is first class as we're treating ourselves and getting older + we want to be near the bar carriage !). www.bahn.de/bahncard
  12. That is ultra cool. Nearly brought a tear to my ee. Was gonna post it to my family chat but dinnae want my boys (26 and 21) disappointed on Christmas day ! Really brilliant thing to do. Let us all know how it goes down.
  13. You'd think that would be obvious but remember the fecking pink !
  14. Read a report today that Kenny McLean is now playing CH for Norwich in front of Angus.
  15. That's awful. Really poor. Funny that England are filtering down allocations for the further rounds and we are realistic. 🤣
  16. Hi David. My pal and I have been following Scotland together for 40 years so really going for it this trip budget wise as who knows how many finals we will get to see (gawd that sounds morose). We've got nice ish hotels booked in munich, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Nuremberg for the trip but big Mike (the pal) has us booked in to the urban loft in Cologne. It's no cheap (£817 for the two of us for three nights without breakfast) but is cancellable. When I've looked at it it looks a bit like an ibis / travel lodge level hotel. Any thoughts as it's kinda in our budget but elsewhere we've got nice looking hotels with a pool or the like. But there doesn't appear that much in Cologne. Would Bonn be a better shout or is that likely to be too quiet ? We like late ones.
  17. Totally agree. Love the guy. He always makes an effort to come over and speak to you if you're at a Scotland away match. No one will replace king Kenny in my heart but he is getting close. The similarity is the joy on his face when he scores. All you want as a fan is for the player to play for the short and passion. And such a lovely bloke - real role model.
  18. Hi David. My pal and I are coming to Cologne for the game. Just wanted to thank you for all the posts and information - realise you don't need to be doing this but it is hugely helpful. Maybe let this group know where you'll be and your favourite pub as I'm sure quite a few on here will be buying you a beer.
  19. I have to travel a lot and use star Alliance when I can (Lufthansa air Austria Brussels air Turkish swiss air etc) the do rediculous sounding connections like 45 mins but 9 times out of 10 they make them. Some really cool experiences where they have a car waiting on the tarmac if the plane is late arriving in order to take you to the connection plane by passing the terminal. Makes you feel like James bond. Doesn't help if you've no time to spare for the match but when I missed a connection in Vienna for the Scotland Albania game they put me up in a nice hotel and gave me €250 compensation and taxi there and back. Had a great time !!!!
  20. And as for super John McG. He is the most underrated player in the EPL. He would be perfect for Liverpool but his price tag would be what ? £80m. But forget that. He is such a super nice guy. He comes over and talks to TA supporters on a one of us basis. I'm 58. We've not had a crowd of players that empathise with us since my 20s.
