Brummie Hibs Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 There won't be many of us, so should we bar/area to meet on match day. I reckon maybe 100 of us?
Flure Posted February 16, 2018 Posted February 16, 2018 My research is ongoing. Lady Flure and I will be in attendance. Meeting up on matchday makes sense. Venue suggestions here?
Ormond Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I bet there’s more than 100. Try doubling that.
kayjay Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 I was in Lima 10 years ago. Most of the pubs were in area around Kennedy Park in Miraflores. Elsewhere it’s was hotel bars or cafes.

I usually like drinking nearer the park before kick off as I’m not left chasing my heels as I get more pished.
Zidane Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 There is nothing much around the stadium either. And getting back out of that area after the game will be a headache.
Ormond Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 You just know it’s going to be a toss up between those two “Irish” pubs close to each other in Miraflores.
Ormond Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 There is an official Scottish Caledonian Society Of Peru based in Lima. I’ve fired them a message to see if they fancy providing information for us regarding drinking hostelries.

Sunday and Monday not too exciting and a few bars close these days. Irish bars annoyingly reliable as usual. Try to avoid being near any roads when you have a hangover. You'll hear what I mean when you get there. Mirror, horn, signal, horn, manoeuvre, horn. Horn. Horn. I can still hear it.

I wasn’t in the area near the ground but according to others on here and FB there is nothing there.
Ormond Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 I did a wee hunt around and these guys popped up. The Scottish Caledonian Society Of Peru who are based in Lima.

Zidane Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 It isn't so much that it is a trek. Actually looks like a straight road from Kennedy park. But driving in rush hour traffic in Lima is soul destroying and the public transport is always packed. I only passed by the stadium on a drive from downtown Lima to Miraflores. Didn't seem to be much around and my Peruvian friend confirmed as much.
kumnio Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Just under a 90 minute walk according to google maps, and it doesnt look like the nicest part of town. Ive asked how much it would be for a transfer from Kennedy Park to the game and back.

Willie.p Posted March 25, 2018 Posted March 25, 2018 Area around stadium not great but safe enough on match days
Willie.p Posted March 25, 2018 Posted March 25, 2018 Plaza san martin would be a good meeting place even has a fountain
