Thesheep
So a little devisive or controversial; but following last Thursday's result many have been talking about not singing Flower of Scotland! Just wondering what people's thoughts are???
Fazzat
It is our adopted Anthem and I would question No voters singing what is basically a Song for Independence. Having said that I would not make a big issue if the did. But they should consider the hypocrysy aspect. Then again if they dont sing then they would be easily spotted. Will they do the English National Anthem at the England Game ???. Remember respect for all National Anthems. Then again I dont think Yes voters or No voters should sing the Austrian National Anthem at nearly every match. It is banned on all Luxury Executive Coaches that I organise. In fact everyone has to sign a declaration that they will not sing ,hum, whistle or mouth the words or fear being thrown off

Bzzzz
I think it is more poignant now than it ever has been. Get it belted out and show them we are not beaten.

Langtonian
Unless your a unionist why not?Did you sing it prior to the referendum?
Robroysboy
The words are even more relevant now, " when will we see your likes again ?" Hopefully sooner rather than later, 45 percent and rising.
captain
I've been singing Proclaimers songs for years but I have absolutely no intention of ever walking 500 miles never mind 500 more. Its a song, if it inspires the players it gets sung.
Angusfifer
I've been giving this subject a bit of thought. It would take a bit of co-ordinating but how about we stay silent and LISTEN to the national anthem on this poignant occasion after 45 percent of us have spoken, feel the sentiment that the song invokes, then raise the rafters. We could even just join in for the last chorus. Let's mark the moment... Edited September 30, 2014 by Angusfifer
RenfrewBlue
I can't sing it again. The hypocrisy of a country voting against being independent and the words of this anthem are amazing. This will probably be my last game too. Scotland will shortly be no more if FIFA have their way and the SFAs disgraceful overcharging means I can't justify the expenditure anymore. RenfrewBlue
no,the hypocrisy is the unionists singing itAnyone singing it looks the same. Unionists don't have identifying marks. We'll all look just as daft singing it.
France here we come
Unionists don't have identifying marks. What about their horns and pointy tails? Anyway, if people don't want to sing FOS then that's up to them but I will continue to, probably louder than ever on this occasion. If the north Brits want to sing it then they can too but I really don't understand how they could without feeling pretty stupid.
rootingtooting
Will stand proud and sing it with more passion than I ever have.
tomtscotland
If it is sung then it will be business as usual and an acknowledgement that we are back in our box. On the other hand, if it is not sung, this WILL be noted and be a reminder to those who have been conned into voting No that they have made a big mistake. Or, if sung it will be a positive reminder that this is not over and we can and will rise and be a nation again, and help to inspire the team at the same time! It's a win, win for me. RenfrewBlue
It seems clear (from a quick survey on these boards) that the support is split on whether to sing FoS. I think it's going to be a fairly muted version tbh. I wish it was possible for the stadium to be silent for the anthem as I think it would make the point in a way no other rendition could. The song is pretty much dead until we get another referendum on the agenda and that won't be for a long time now.

I'd expect the majority of folk in Ibrox to sing FoS at the start of the match but it might be a somewhat lacklustre rendition. It's probably
Goozay
... not going to sell out which won't help. I reckon there'll be less impromptu renditions of FoS during the course of the game.
Langtonian
due to not being successful in becoming independant some cant bring themselves to sing our national anthem so why are they actually going to watch our national team?
