  1. George McLuskey, a good player. Couldn’t dislodge Frank McGarvey latterly, though, and had to move on. Celtic in the early ‘80s were good to watch.
  2. Hey, I don’t need to lighten up. Just thought you were a bit angry for no reason. Appreciate the wave though. It could be sarcastic but I’m taking it as a friendly wave. Although it could also be construed as a Michael Jackson-like gloved hand, which definitely is in bad taste. I’m grassing you.
  3. I think this is kind of crazy. Dave78 is one of the better posters on here and is certainly not deliberately offensive or antagonistic or anything. I’ve seen ‘jokes’ on almost every topic on here, some quite beyond the pale from my own perspective, some I’ve thought simply tasteless. This was fairly innocuous and quite obviously tongue-in-cheek. Dave has pointed this out and explained. Your reaction is a bit weird. Let it go. Its as if no point can be conceded, even in the face of a perfectly acceptable explanation. This place, man.
  4. Well, 18th out of 22 ain’t brilliant.
  5. Just being a dick! Sorry. I have friends there and... well, just being a dick.
  6. Flemish, please. Dutch is spoken in the Netherlands. Please be culturally and linguistically accurate. They may be almost the same but there are many vocabulary differences.
  7. In my opinion, and I stress it’s only an opinion, Mox is quite right to be concerned about how black people in America have been, are being and will continue to be treated. The latest murder is fucking awful and it’s proved to be the spark. There’s some quite justified outpouring of rage. i think the fierceness of the response to him here is pretty extraordinary for a quite justified viewpoint. That is all.
  8. So the reason we kept getting our arse kicked by English bowmen was because we were too busy being good at football to be interested in producing archers of our own. So we were the best in the world at football but then the government banned it. Fucks sake. Must’ve been Tory bastards. Could we not just have convinced the English that battles were to be fought on the football pitch?
  9. Fair enough. Never realised that. What I should have said, surprised he never played a more prominent role. I remember a cracking goal v Iceland.
  10. I found it a hard watch due to his now known about unionism. But maybe that’s just me! Also can’t understand reason why McStay didn’t get more caps. So assured and good at keeping possession when he came on. Looked like a proper footballer. Didn’t appreciate him so much when I was younger (I wasn’t even that young). But he was kinda like Barry Ferguson but with more forward impetus. Anyway, he wasn’t on for long in this game but it sparked a memory. Maestro indeed.
  11. King Arthur wasn’t English though. 😛
  12. No, his stuff tends to pass me by. Apologies if this is old ground. Just think it’s great that my preconceived image of Slasher is totally false. He actually goes around in a turtleneck and blazer with patches on the elbows and glasses. Not what I imagined a Slasher to be like at all.
  13. Yeah, some of them have confused me over the years. Usually In an argument they get some patronising Person calling them “son” and they counter with, “Actually, I’m not a bloke.” And the truth is out.
  14. Someone called Slasher is a successful author; our resident intellectual is called Fart (and can’t spell). Any other misleading names?
  15. I wish you good fortune, mate. And congratulations.
  16. I’m from the west coast and I do not. i accept a fair amount of folk do though. Maybe 43% or so? Not a majority. Definitely.
  17. Yeah, and similarly, where does the line start and end east of which folk are condescending whanks about the way folk talk? 🙃
  18. Anyone watched Kingdom, the Korean zombie thing? Just finished the two series and enjoyed it. First episode is a bit slow but is generally a good programme.
  19. I'm not due the self-employed payment as I've only been self-employed since January. Seems strange I'm discriminated against for that reason. As it happens, I am still able to work to a certain extent. However, with a young child at home all day (and the wife not able to supervise all the time due to recovery from illness) I'm limited in what work I pick up. So I'm definitely losing out. Not as bad as some though.
  20. A Timeout is a chocolate bar, is it not? Needs to be a clear distinction. As is a Twix (even a single finger one). best biscuit - Rocky best chocolate bar - Ripple
  21. They probably edge it, but the red wrapper ones are excellent too.
