  1. Lack of two quality centre backs the reason we did not qualify.
  2. Hoping to go to Canada, USA and Mexico in space of ten days- looks like a visa required for all. Internal air flights are cheap in USA though.
  3. Traced fathers side back to IOM in the 1840s then on to Galloway. On mothers side no birth dates available for Irish migration in late 19th century. Also discovered a Great Grandmother who died in labour at 23 [ her 3rd child].
  4. Overwhelmed by this nonsense in work I refused to join in any xmas activity. This angered a hyper 50 year old saddo who decided to cover me in Glitter and verbally abuse me. Only my good nature prevented me from reporting her.
  5. Track suit bottoms are the business, always wear them when visiting the betting shop and Tesco, Wearing them socially or to work in an office is taking it too far though. My employer scrapped their dress code a few months back resulting in all sorts of hideous attire. Worst though is plump middle aged people in Jeans.
  6. Slow decline of our NHS caused by the Labour party. Gave GPs six figure salaries and allowed them to opt out of caring for patients out of hours. So good they don't need the grand a night available from NHS24 for a shift.
  7. Usually have some flights booked by this time but a combination of realism about our ability and ticket availability has made me think twice. Four pointers could be squeezed out of many games and I canna be bothered with the hassle of sourcing tickets.
  8. The rewards for successful shop managers are pretty high, pays well above an MPs salary. Ethos is to make a healthy profit and be paid extremely well.
  9. J J Booths is correct. Open till 1am at the weekend but no Jeans rule applied. Mates ex wife was called Jean but she was never allowed to come along.
  10. You would know it as The Village, now The James Tassie. Another favourite was The Newlands Hotel which became flats.
  11. Late 70s Glasgow was Alhambra bar and then Savoy dancing. I worked on the theory that with so many females I could play the numbers game.. Hardest bouncers to pass when pished though, they lined up on both sides as we walked towards entrance. Mention also for Doune Castle in Shawlands and Shawlands hotel.
  12. How often do we play midweek league games compared to English Championship? They seem to play nearly every other week. Our teams tend to play only once a week at present.
  13. Lists of names are compiled and sold from so many different sources.
  14. At your age there are little or no benefits from moving a company pension elsewhere. If it's a "final salary" pension then to shift it would be financial suicide as it includes so many benefits. If it's a " money purchase" scheme then it's about investment choice and this could be what our intrepid salesman will target. Remember the word frozen is often used but pension benefits grow even when you no longer work for that company. BEWARE.
  15. Nearly six months with no massive hangovers,I still drink every Saturday but only a certain amount. DTs spooked me big style after Dublin and I vowed never to encounter that again. Quit completely? Not on my agenda.
  16. Serious issues with DTs after 3 day drinking blitz in Dublin. Vowed to never get in that state again......over 5 months has passed and I have been true to my word. Can still enjoy 5 to 6 pints on a night out but I have learned to stop.
  17. Different company, he ensures trains are fit and proper. Due to my complaining a few years back the standard of toilets improved from diabolical to poor.
  18. At their best last Saturday morning when we had a slight frost. Forty minutes late due to frozen points, on a single track. Heaters not turned on?
  19. You can't just highlight a positive spin on events. What about a heavy deflection on our goal in Ireland? What about shambles in Georgia? What about us being outclassed by a Germany team in 3rd gear? Non combative midfield in all four games, unable to hold possession therefore putting more pressure on our defence. Open your eyes and stop dreaming.
