I see that our great and ilustrious ex PM has said politicians in Scotland must "stop obsessing about constitutional change and focus on improving people's lives". How stupid does he think people are? Does he really think most people can't see a link between constitutional change and the quality of their lives?

Scottish Labour Leader Vote

Problem of course being in Westminster politicians don't want it whereabouts northern branch office thinks or offers is completely irrelevant. -

Nowt so queer as folk - nowt so queer as Yorkshire folk -
I think you're right there, it'll be a few years before any of Smith's recommendations become real and in the meantime there's already talk of rushing through EVEL so even if by some miracle Ed won the election he might well not have the ability to legislate on English matters. Labour have been well and truly done.

Labour Are Stuffed

Well we all know why Labour need Scotland but for the life of me I cannot see why Scotlaand needs Labour. -
The other overlooked thing is that I always fancy a chance of him getting a goal. If I was cruel at this point I might make a jibe about "sometimes in the oppositions net" but he does add a bit of a presence at corners and that can also be handy.

2 Months Since The Vote

Interesting comments from Pete Wishart SNP MP following yesterday's sparsely attended debate ''Today we saw once again the true colours of the Tory backbenches at Westminster. They remain unhappy and disgruntled with their embattled party leader for being bounced into the 'Vow' by Labour's Scottish dinosaurs - as speaker after speaker rose to their feet to make the point that this was something agreed by the Prime Minister but not at Westminster by MPs.They made clear they do not feel bound in any way by the ' Vow' - but made absolutely clear they continue to see the Barnett Formula as their key target - potentially slashing Scotland's budget by £4 billion." -
Question Time Tonight

Labour so scared that they look out of touch with ordinary people, stupid tweet and displays incredible lack of judgment just makes her look like a snob. -
Not really relevant though is it, the gap over recent years has got wider. Once upon a time results between the two countries was 50:50 but if we'd been playing them regularly since the demise of the home internationals that gap would have widened. We're not producing the quality of player we used to although there are some signs for optimism. At the end of the day tho' I'm not too bothered we lost, Friday was the game we had to win and we did. If we're going to lose I'd prefer it to be a meaningless friendly rather than in a Euro qualifier and if it reminds us all that we're still work in progress then thats not a bad thing and hopefully will pay dividends in the long term.

In fairness people have been saying how good he's been last couple of games

Anyone Still Want To Reinstate This As A Regular Match?
Hertsscot replied to biffer's topic in TA specific
No from me. -
Problem with regards to Martin is we need an alternative to Fletcher up front and ironically it's easier to find strikers who can play in a pair compared to someone playing on their own up top.

I don't know Neil Findlay but from what I know I wouldn't vote for him. Seems to be a complete lack of integrity. Also think MSM doesn't come out of this well, he was completley unchallenged by Marr and I guess the papers won't pick up on his bare faced lies. If there's one thing that unionist politicians like Findlay have learnt from the Referendum campaign is they can say pretty much what they like and get away with it.

Long term options? Injuries to Hutton and Bardsley have shown the lack of cover here, next year both of them and whittaker will be 30+. Its great that we've got Robertson on the other flank but just wondering who seems to be the best long term bet to come through over the next two or three years, Paterson, Gordon, A.N.Other?

Just woken up, couldn't get up for the game, couldn't listen to it. Wife switched radio on and YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Not a bad start for a Saturday.

I have absolutely no doubt of the immorality of the actions of some of those involved with the club in the last few years, it would be great if some of them were shown to have acted illegally. As sTrangers fan I can understand why some people hate us but for them the issue has always been about good governance of football clubs and if somewhere down the lines these people are held accountable by the law then that will be a good day for all ordinary fans.

I think the going abroad option might be best, sort of Craig Thomson situation. McCormick, Hughes both killed people and I can't recall as much fuss, anyone know how they got treated by fans when they came out of jail and started playing again? I hope I'm not doing United a disservice but I suspect whatever decision is finally made will be with an eye to the commercial and financial consequences, loss of sponsorship Tec. -
Most stories in the papers fall into that category! However what it does show yet again is that Scottish votes are irrelevant to the Tory party who feasibly could spin shipbuilding in France as a good deal for the UK taxpayer. Added bonus being that Labour get a good kicking from disgruntled supporters at the next election.
