  1. So Tories just voted on NI party donations but won't cover EU referendum and who DUP got £500000 to put a Leave wrap around the Metro. Is there anyway this doesn't stink?

The guys a first rate prick. Has resigned from SNP and should resign from being an MSP
  3. Quite glad Spurs are out. Pretty much everyone round where I live is Spurs or Arsenal, not sure which one I dislike most and Kirk is spot on about Deli Ali.
  4. Think we used to say the same about Jordan Rhodes at that level! Good to see McBurnie amongst the goals, I must admit few times I'd seen him on highlights at Swansea he hadn't seemed to make much impact and I was fearing he might be a non goal scoring centre forward, a few of which we've had over the years.
  5. I hope Jordan Archer has kicked on since I used to see him playing non-league. He was on loan from Spurs and outstanding at that level. Superb shot stopper and I'm not surprised that he's having a decent professional career, was highly spoken of and not a big time Charlie. My reservations, and this is a few years ago, were about his distribution and overall command of the area. He's capable of making mistakes, absolute howler against England u21 a few years back but as a keeper that just goes with the territory the key is to keep mistakes to the minimum.
  6. We have produced world class sportsmen and women over recent years, unfortunately not in football. I'm not denying that there is a problem with the national psyche but it would be great if we could turn that around. Why that negativity is there in the first place is another question entirely.
  7. Don't know what Scot McTominay will turn out like in the long term but if the news is true then its good news. The more players who are eligible and want to play for us the better.
  8. There's been a ridiculous number of dqs. I think it's a combination of super sharp eyed judges and the actual track which I think slopes slightly more than normal. Not good for the sport though.
  9. Anyone watching these? Scots athletes punching massively above their weight. GB and NI got four medals so far, 75% of them won by Scots. The likes of Muir and Clark deserve medals just by getting their after epic journeys through snow and ice.
  10. I think Ormond is right, you can't Seperate this from the politics and the Scottish cringe. Add to that a complete lack of footballing success and you get a desperately sad situation. I think the Irish diaspora is much prouder of its roots than ours.
  11. I would agree. In terms of impact and raising self belief he's ahead by a country mile. Always felt with Faddy on the pitch anything was possible.
  12. Given the inclement weather... Any ideas what is best car in wintry conditions?

    Angus Gunn

Think I've said it before but he might regret his choice. Certainly with Pickford and Butland England should be well served in that particular department.
  14. So Ryan Wilson's getting cited for foul play. I didn't see the whole of the incident but from what I saw the English guy had his hands round Wilson's throat whilst Wilson was on the ground. I'm not a big rugby player but I would have though throttling your opponent might also be considered a foul and a bit unsporting.
  15. I think there's a lot of truth in what you say. When I was a teenager I played with two other lads. All three of us were born in England, two of us had a Scots father, the other had both parents who were Scots. Not one of us would have considered ourselves English and would have told England where to go. I do wonder whether that is still the case. I know people who are in a similar situation now whose kids consider themselves English. Okay that's anecdotal, my personal thought is our lack of sporting success contributes, put bluntly we're a bit of a joke now whereas in my day no one could say that about a team with the likes of Dalglish, Jordan, Bremner, McGrain.
  16. Think you could add a few others there, Graham Alexander, Don Hutchison.
  17. What happened to the youngster at Livi, Matthew Knox (?) that Man Utd, Rangers Tec were interested in a few years back. IIRC he's on loan somewhere but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
  18. Great performance by Ester Ledecka, the Czech snowboarder who won the women's Super G on borrowed skis. Quite remarkable, fantastic reaction at the end as well when she'd won it.
  19. Sometimes it's only a championship striker you need. N. Ireland had Healy banging in the goals for them and latterly big Kyle. We get someone like Stevie Archibald playing for Barcalona or Charlie Nicholas playing for Arsenal yet neither had the same strike rate at international level
  20. Mourinho wouldn't have a cheque book for he Scotland job though!
  21. Interesting signing, promising England or Scotland centre half at one stage of his career.
  22. I know that players down south get a lot of grief sometimes (e.g. WGS was picking players who weren't good enough and there were better in Scotland) but I do think Russell is one of those players for whom the reverse might have been true and if he'd been playing regularly in Scotland he woudl have a few more caps by now.
