  1. Totally agree, this population thing is nonsense. You only need to find around 30 or so players to form a squad, so whether you have 2 million or 200 million, it shouldn't be difficult, as proven by the likes of Denmark and Croatia who have a similar population to us and, without checking, seem to reach more finals than not.
  2. But that "extra body back there" leaves us light in midfield because let's be honest we play a 5-3-2 not 3-5-2. Plus as someone said we don't really have anyone who plays wing back apart from possibly Ryan Fraser. Right now, in my humble opinion, we need to play some variation of a 4-5-1, and building the midfield around McGinn, Armstrong, McGregor and possibly Cairney and Fraser.
  3. Yeah, but apart from that lol. 3 at the back is crazy. We've barely enough decent cbs for 2 positions let alone 3.
  4. Would like to see that team given a run out.
  5. He'll be really good once he realizes he can use his right foot too. He's almost literally getting himself in knots trying to keep the ball on his left foot.
  6. You won't last long here, too much sense in one post. Been saying similar for years, Scottish football is piss poor and a shambles from top to bottom, we need to rip it up and start again.
  7. Unfortunately this is the big problem with a lot of IPTV subs.
  8. I think Mourinho is doing what he likes and is hoping to be sacked. IMO he's decided he wants out but won't resign. Incidentally he seems to hold McTominay in high regard and spoke highly of him after the game.
  9. This article says that when Bremen squared off the ends, the capacity was almost unchanged, so it can be done. http://stadiumdb.com/stadiums/ger/weserstadion
  10. Like Werder Bremen did? http://www.stadiumguide.com/weserstadion/
  11. Please don't take this as a personal dig mate, but as a nation we need to cut this "he's still only X" out. Many, many players from various countries perform at the highest level at way younger ages than 23, but here your still classed as a kid till your about 25. Yes, McGinn is 23 or whatever but he's been a pro long enough to know what's what. The other side of that coin however is that he's still inexperienced at international level, but that's nothing to do with age.
  12. Nail on head there mate. Couldn't agree more.
  13. I'm pretty sure only the countries winning the group's in section A qualify for anything. Winning a group in section D gets you shit.
  14. I'd rather have Tierney at CB than Mulgrew.

Isn't £25 on average what you'd pay to watch an SPL match?
  16. How can he be our number one striker if he isn't playing at club level? That's just stupid.
  17. Not what I'd pick, but something like what I'd expect Archer Paterson Hendry. Mulgrew. Robertson Fraser McGinn. McTominay. Douglas Armstrong. Cummings
  18. Confidence comes with experience. Half a dozen of the starting line up had 5 or less caps, it's understandable that they're not overly confident or nervous.
  19. I see what you're saying, but these guys coming in aren't international level, at least yet, maybe never. They're never going to be in their 1st cap, but if bleeding them in pointless friendlies gets them to that level then I'll take it. As I said though I don't think it helped having so many new players in at once, especially in midfield. I think people forget the gulf in class going from playing for Aberdeen or Fulham or Cardiff to international level, even against your Costa Rica's.
  20. Amazed by the negativity on this thread. One poor performance with a team full of uncapped players and almost everyone is whinging. People on here have constantly moaned about bringing in new players, then we bring in new players and guess what, they fucking still moan. It's a process, you can't just chuck in 6 new players and expect to look like world beaters. This is the whole point in friendlies. Tonight, we lacked experience at international level, too many new faces in the starting 11 and that was McLeish's biggest mistake tonight, especially in midfield. That and playing Ritchie.
  21. Looks like the first Adidas away kit we had. Usual Adidas kit these days where it looks like they're design team looked through an old Shoot magazine for design ideas.
  22. Armstrong isn't even guaranteed to start let alone be captain.
  23. That stupid looking prick is even more useless than Regan.

  25. He hasn't retired, although seems to not be overly fussed about being picked though.
