  1. A lump of wood. Decent with his back to goal laying people off and a good finisher but no where near good enough or mobile enough or talented enough for international football. His absence has been detrimental to Derby but that more indicative of the style of football that suceeds in the championship rather than his personal ability. I say this as someone who has a major soft spot for Derby and have watched them play in person a good few times in person and on tv.
  2. Westys = westerlands. Team in the cally league. Shite park and worse changing facilities.
  3. I don't think so mate, he is more a work friend than a proper mate, he is from larkhall bud...http://www.gal.org.uk They are all over the country... Redstevies link is also well worth a look, if you are near lanarkshire then I can put you in touch with someone if you are interested
  4. Rescue greyhound is what you want mate. Placid big guys, never seen an act of aggression once. The time in the house alone for them will be fine too as they are lazy bast'rds! Very little in the way of exercise for the same reason. Mate of mine is involved in the lanarkshire greyhound rescue thing. Should defo check them out mate.
  5. I'd agree. He is their chris Martin type player. Would have Coleman, McCarthy, mcgeady and o'shea think all would get a starting place with us. The rest wouldn't trouble our first 16 I don't think.
  6. This formation needs binned and binned fast. No shape. Players in each other's space. It's shockingly poor.
  7. Probably right as chelsea don't produce players, sentiment is that if Real Madrid want a chelsea player they will sign him. Harper nor the club he plays for is the issue here. It's the comments about sacrificing technical ability for "physicality and runners" in a development squad that is the issue. The fact it has taken the emission of a player, whom it seems Ive seen play more than the coach who is employed to do that job, who just happens to play, successfully for one of the best clubs in the world, has just exacerbated those comments. Antiquated and embarrassing. Worthy of dismissal, in my opinion. We can not have attitudes like that in positions of such developmental importance.
  8. Totally agree, it would be of benefit to introduce something like this. You have covered why so no need to elaborate.
  9. They do indeed mate, the ingeniously named East kilbride fc. Sitting second to Edinburgh City just now. They play out of the K park in EK, which is a tidy wee ground within calderglen country park, far too small and not on a site it could readily be expanded upon for league football though.I thought Clyde had done a deal on the land at Langlands nature reserve in EK incorporating a name change to EK Clyde.
  10. I was working so couldn't get to the game. Just finished watching it. Their songs were sung in a scottish accent predominately. Had the misfortune of passing the Bristol bar in glasgow today. Scots in n.ireland tops galore. What a bizarre mentality? Had I not been working I'd have given this a miss. My few experiences with the fans of Northern Ireland have been less than pleasant. Particularly in Dublin. I know why a certain type of scot would find being part of this support attractive. I want nothing to do with their support. Not a fixture I'd ever attend again on a non competitive basis. SFA feck up again, not only in terms of ranking/seeding points but fans appetite for enduring a bigotfest.
  11. They really are a law unto themselves. The backing the US provides gives them a licence to act with impunity. It is disgusting. For those who haven't seen it I throughly recommend the film 5 broken cameras. It's a documentary which gives an insight on a personal level into Israel's land grabbing and how they treat palestians. Absolutely brilliant watch and compounded my utter distaste of that countries policies and actions.
  12. Wish I'd seen that! Backed it at the start of the week as I thought it was such a stick on. Spurs made it a bit twitchy but as obvious a winner I've seen in a long time. Hope you spend your winnings well bud!
  13. Gareth bale must be on his way out. Looked uninterested and was very poor. Incidentally he is so one footed it is criminal. Decent first half, scrappy second half. Game riddled with ridiculous incidents of play acting. Embarrassing at times. Fair result in the end though I think.
  14. Seen a few since Friday. The one I seen on Friday was on the pavement, ordinarily if have just walked by it but remembering what you have said I picked it up and allowed it to get the heat off my hands and the wee guy fly away a few minutes later right as rain...Another two today in hamilton at football. It was a beautiful day here and pleasantly warm so not surprising. Cracking wee things.
  15. Arsenal Southampton Spurs 2.5/1 treble for me today
  16. The point made about his medical condition is valid.the drugs he utilised are banned in professional sport so he is in postion he would never have been in had he not used them. Had to stop taking them upon turning pro. It made him a bigger, stronger, faster human being. What is the difference between treating a kid with these steroid treatments to become better at a sport than an adult doing it to get the same benefits? That being said he is a fantastic talent and the footballing world would have missed out on his amazing talent.
  17. I hope so mate. He looked a fine young player pre liverpool. Seemed it caused a regress in his career as he looked shaky and devoid of confidence in the first couple of seasons he came back up the road. Not seen much of him this year but I hope he is finding form again because he clearly had ability. Centre half is a position where many don't hit their peak until mid to late twenties so he still has time. Fingers crossed he fulfils that early promise.
  18. And cairney as well. One who I rate extremely highly. Our midfield options are fantastic. Defensively we are very weak, comparatively so. Up top we are well covered for a nation our size. It's looking much brighter than it has been in many a year. A couple of good young centre halves in addition to Hanley, hopefully cooper and souttar come good and we are looking excellent.
  19. Lee Wilkie would've been our captain and a scotland great had it not been for his horrendous injury. John Kennedy was an average centre half and his almost mythical status he is held in by some is unwarranted.
  20. And with one fell swoop that argument was debunked. Excellent point made. Professional athletes need to let off some steam on occasion. It's not unusual. The timing of brown's night out is questionable but some of the comments made in this thread are laughable. He had a bevy. On a night off. Front page news? Worthy of suspension or dropping? Get a grip.
  21. The ownership of either club has nothing to do with the level of disgust most have for chelsea.
  22. You will struggle to see a more inept performance from a referee at any level than this clown this evening. Utterly shambolic.
  23. Totally agree with the first couple of lines. Your club and celtic perpetuated all that was wrong with scottish football and the self preservation that stopped it happening. It's only now that this inequality and lack of competition and indeed finance has become an issue that many Rangers fans are of the same ilk. I geninuely wonder if the same desire for change would be there if you were still winning 9 in a row and the tv cash was still rolling in. Fans of smaller teams have always advocated this, in general. We have seen the big two squeeze the life out the game and undemocratic voting structures put in place to enable this. To say people would rather shit on the game than see this is wholly ironic.
