  2. King got thrown in at the deep end when Rangers were short last season in the CL and got badly found out. This isn't an indictment of his potential abilities as a senior footballer, the entire squad were out of their depth in that group and he was making up the numbers against world class opposition at the age of 18 having barely played any senior football. He may get more appearances next season, or more likely Rangers will backfill with ready-made players of some established pedigree. He's still a very young player and it could be one of those "see where he is in 5 years" scenarios. He could easily be found in the generic SPFL and/or nondescript EFL and/or generic foreign low-level league category or else end up taking a more indirect route to carve out a good career and establish enough form in a new environment to take into himself and fashion a way to international football, like a Jack Hendry. I'm nowhere near clued up enough to know which is likely based on his progress. I think it's fair to say the longer he spends at Rangers not playing the less prospects he has.
  3. Kroos is 34 and Muller is near to 35 Auld men way past their peak ...
  4. Kroos is their key player. Since he’s back, they are showing a very different face.
  5. Time for an Away jersey. This time, our away top from 1994 until 1996. EURO 96, was our second of four EURO's we qualified for, and what seems to be a pattern we never wore our away top in any of our three matches - Netherlands, England and Switzerland. EURO 96 was the last and only time we played a tournament match against Switzerland (We beat them 1-0, with a goal by McCoist), and we only played the Swiss once since then in a 2006 friendly which we lost 3-1, with Kenny Miler grabbing our only goal. We have played Switzerland 16 times, going back to 1931 and our record is 8W 5D 3L

  7. Trapped as a full time carer for my Dad who is 92, blind and immobile Usually record it anyway and watch it later at night For some strange reason Emily Symons has never "did" it for me, even going way back to the early Home and Away I can't put my finger on it - Viv Windsor however .....
  8. There's a highly inappropriate joke in there somewhere... 🤐
  9. Is it not a lovely afternoon where you are? Get outside and away from ogling tv titties. 😃

  11. Looks pretty strong. I guess Clark could also take four keepers to strategically match the Germans. I’m actually surprised Nagelsmann wants to take four goalies at the expense of another player. Baumann has been playing well at Hoffenheim but not sure he’ll see any action over Ter Stegen, Neuer and Nübel. Not sure I would have taken Thomas Müller over others but I understand his selection. The man just annoys me so much but he’s 'beliebt' in Germany. I thought Karim Adeyemi might get a call up. He’s been great for Dortmund this season and had a great game in the Champion’s league semi final. He’s quick and I think would cause us much more problems than Müller who has not had the best season. Nagelsmann probably has a harder job than Clark when it comes to selection, he’s quite confident the Germans can win the tournament. I’d love to get something from the opening game but it does look a daunting prospect.
  12. Not one Killie fan in the stadium was giving a fuck, our work for the season was finished on Saturday. Glad it stopped at 5 though! 5-0 defeat and large % of our support were still there singing at FT.
  13. I have no idea. https://www.sportbible.com/football/england/gareth-southgate-england-euro-2024-squad-selection-016842-20240513 "Maybe the additional squad will help us with that. We don't have to take 26, and there's no point in taking more players than we need." With Mings, Maguire and Shaw out and James having lack of match fitness, the only logic that I can think of is that he's running out of options.
  14. Sorry about the use of "sex romp" I rewatched this earlier in the week
  15. Why would anyone pick less than the maximum number of players offered?
  16. I think this is bang on. Rangers will sign 2 foreign cbs this summer and King will remain in the squad position he’s in. And you’re right he’s not any worse than who plays.
  17. 😂😂😂 England have been to semis and a final of major tournaments since then and have been consistently inside the worlds top 10 since the rankings began. They were also at home in 1966. Denmark winning in 1992 was a far bigger upset, Greece even more so. If Scotland win Euro 2024 next month it would probably be the biggest upset in football history.
  18. I can't count. There's actually four goalkeepers named.
  19. Denmark had a very good team back then. It’s was obviously a shock but if they had qualified outright instead of sneaking in the back door I don’t think it would have been viewed as being as big a surprise.
  20. Classic Emmerdale on ITV 3 of an afternoon reminds us of how good these shows used to be It is currently 2005 Louise Appleton (Marilyn from Home and Away, Massive Chebs, is currently having a clandestine sex romp with Matthew King behind her boyfriend's back. After returning from an overnight at a bed and breakfast she enters a fairly busy Woolpack pub Diane Sugden shouts from behind the bar "How was your facial Louise" Classic
  21. Correct and correct. As stated, Greece have done it, as has Denmark and England. Which goes to prove that wee teams can upset the apple cart. Football isn't played on paper, if it was then there would be no point competing. Seriously. Some people saying that Scotland will be lucky to get three points. Some people bigging up England and calling them a heavyweight. It's nauseating.
  22. agreed, when he's played either of these positions for the U21s he looks more comfortable than when he's one of 2 centre backs
  23. Germany preliminary squad named: https://www.sportbible.com/football/football-news/germany-euro-2024-squad-announced-full-174427-20240516 It's ominous that they can choose to leave out players of the calibre of Hummels, Werner and Goretzka Your move, Mr Clarke.
  24. It's a 27 man squad and there's the 3 required goalkeepers, so barring injuries, 1 outfield player will not make the cut. Hummers, Werner and Goretzka haven't made the squad. Gnabry misses out through injury. --- Goalkeepers: Oliver Baumann, Manuel Neuer, Alexander Nubel, Marc-Andre ter Stegen Defenders: Waldemar Anton, Benjamin Henrichs, Joshua Kimmich, Robin Koch, Maximilian Mittelstadt, David Raum, Antonio Rudiger, Nico Schlotterbeck, Jonathan Tah Midfielders: Robert Andrich, Chris Fuhrich, Pascal Groß, Ilkay Gundogan, Toni Kroos, Jamal Musiala, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Leroy Sane, Florian Wirtz Forwards: Maximilian Beier, Niclas Fullkrug, Kai Havertz, Thomas Muller, Deniz Undav
