Dai Thomas
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_Declaration_of_Independence "For if, you know, your history " :-) Asking Irish terrorist organisations to boost the numbers at the Calton Hill March cost us/you many many votes and support in the Referendum - best to keep well away in the future. wwta2007.com
I want Independence. However, i value democracy more than Independence. OK, fair one. 57 of 59 Scots MP's voted against bombing Syria. Do you agree that, within a Scots political perspective, the bombing is undemocratic ? Scunnered
OK, fair one. 57 of 59 Scots MP's voted against bombing Syria. Do you agree that, within a Scots political perspective, the bombing is undemocratic ? It's not undemocratic no... The Government won their vote democratically. No matter what the political scale there is always going to be a democratic deficit. In an independent Scotland Aberdonians will be moaning like that they're not getting the Tory government they're voting for. Folk in my street where the poor folk live will be voting Labour/SNP and two streets over where the big houses are will be voting Tory. For the above argument to be any close to valid you'd need to argue for independence on the back of a completely overhauled political system. I recommend democratic centralism

Do you agree that, within a Scots political perspective, the bombing is undemocratic ? Nope, in terms of Westminster politics Scotland is no different to any other area in the UK with a similar population. We voted to remain in the UK, we as a population have accepted the pros and cons of that arrangement.
