JagDude
I think Anya is brilliant, one of the first names on the teamsheet. How does he qualify when others don't?

ParisInAKilt
He was born in Glasgow, lived in Scotland until was 7 and was a Scotland supporter. That's why. Look it's not rocket science. 99% of fans will accept anyone who qualiies and considers themselves Scottish.

What if born in Scotland and raised to 7 but considers themselves french? Scottish or not?

JagDude
So you have to FEEL scottish to play for scotland? We know that Anya feels Scottish because some dudes had a flag at a spanish match? What if he actually FEELS nigerian but also kind of feels scottish but has a feeling for romania? We're a weird bunch.
ParisInAKilt
He said he supports Scotland. Good enough for me. I don't think theres anything weird about wanting scottish players to play for scotland.

JagDude
I just wonder, that maybe at some point he supported nigeria or romania. Should he be allowed? Is it good enough to say that you "support Scotland"? I'm just trying to work out the definitive rules...

Toepoke
There must be a big difference between going to an international football match as a supporter and as a player. The emotional aspect of it is a major factor in supporting the team but I can't see how the nationality you "feel" you are will make much difference once the ref blows his whistle and you are focusing on playing in high intensity game... Stuart87
I go to Scotland games with a friend who was born in Liverpool and stayed there till he was 4. Moved to Glasgow and has pretty much stayed there since. His dad's Scottish but his mum's English. He supports Scotland but likes to see England doing well. If he had been good enough to play professional football, should he have to declare who he wants to play for when he turns professional, as some people were suggesting on another thread? Or does he keep his options open?

They both qualify. If you're haven't gotten it by now then maybe you're the zoomer. Maybe you're not one of the people it was aimed at. I'm trying to work out what the rules are. They seem to change.
