phart
So after revelations that Bliar shut down a criminal investigation into BAE cause the Saudi's said they'd allow terrorists to bomb us if we did. It seems the master collude® decided to give Libyas security services free reign with our own to go after dissidents who had taken "asylum" here. Some of the other treats include UK intelligence agencies sent more than 1,600 questions to be put to the two opposition leaders, Sami al-Saadi and Abdul Hakim Belhaj, despite having reason to suspect they were being tortured. Gaddafi’s agents recorded MI5 as warning in September 2006 that the two countries’ agencies should take steps to ensure that their joint operations would never be “discovered by lawyers or human rights organisations and the media”. "Belhaj alleges that following one of these encounters he agreed to sign a statement about his associates in the UK after being threatened with a form of torture called the Honda, which involved being locked in a box-like structure whose ceiling and walls could be shrunk, provoking extreme claustrophobia and fear as well as discomfort." http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/jan/23/-sp-blair-gaddafi-letter-thanks-spy-cooperation-libya-uk-dissidents http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/jan/22/cooperation-british-spies-gaddafi-libya-revealed-official-papers In case any one is wondering Libya is a nightmare now after our "intervention" where the former leader was captured and sodomised with a knife before being killed.. "The central bank is the repository for Libya’s oil revenue and holds nearly $100 billion in foreign reserves. A desire for a share of that wealth has helped motivate the violent competition among an array of militias fighting for money and influence. They have carved the country into warring fiefs, destroyed its two largest airports, bombed and shelled civilian neighborhoods and burned down refineries and oil depots — driving the oil output that is the mainstay of Libya’s economy down to less than 250,000 barrels a day from as much as 1.7 million a day at its peak. As a result, Libyans across the country endure electricity blackouts for hours a day, long lines for scarce fuel at gas stations, and shortages of cooking oil despite its vast energy resources. But the central bank has sought to remain neutral and above the fray. It has continued to pay for fuel and food subsidies as well as the salaries of bureaucrats, doctors, teachers, local officials and millions of other public employees — often regardless of whether they showed up for work." http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/23/world/africa/libyan-fighters-seize-benghazi-branch-of-central-bank.html Edited January 24, 2015 by phart

If i can be bothered writing it all out.
Ally Bongo
There is an increasing worrying trend with all politicians either saying one thing then doing another or just downright lying. Its become more prevalent in the last 10 years to the point today where it can only be described as equal to Hitler's Germany or Stalin's Russia (ok maybe i exaggerate - but it's getting that way) The whole problem is TV and Radio throughout the world Nobody actually questions anything anybody says anymore when they say it We are seeing it a bit here with Jim Murphy - where you can almost see him saying to himself "am i going to get caught out this time" everytime he opens his mouth. Instead of pointing a camera at the likes of Putin, Cameron, Obama et al and letting them talk shite how about actually having someone clued up who can quiz them on what they are saying
phart
Well Ally once Campbell and Blair "won" the case including Dr Kelly and the top two folk at the BBC had to go(Dyke and gillingham, i think its gillingham something like that anyway, typing from memory), and the main broadcaster was neutered. The BBC claim was "They alleged that the government invented intelligence, inserted it into a dossier knowing it to be untrue, against the wishes of the intelligence services." which we know now was pretty much the way it went down. The press are a bigger shambles than the politicians.
neilser
Saw that this morning, further up the screen from the article about flags in the UK being at half mast for the murderous in charge of an oil rich, mediaeval, terrorist supporting dictatorship popping his Gucci loafers. Why would anyone want to be part of this sorry excuse for a state when given a chance to get out last September?

neilser
Charles is selling himself short there, with only bullets and a sword in honour of the old dead . He should also be wearing a ceremonial pair of pliers (used to torture people by pulling their fingernails out) and a ceremonial length of hosepipe (several uses) to give the old guy proper recognition.... ThistleWhistle
Look at the state of this arsehole. Just about sums them up for me...one utter honouring another. Look at the state of that ludicrously expensive weapon; of no use for anything other than to be rolled out for outdated and obscenely opulent ceremonies. What is it he's holding anyway?
