Andy North Croy
Travelling from Edinburgh Airport next week wearing kilt...anyone still having probs with kilt pins at security?
GRBear
I went from Prestwick to Barcelona a few months back. The security pulled me aside to check but let me travel with it.
Flure
Depends upon the airport. Depends upon the Security person. Depends upon their Supervisor. There's no policy that's consistent. You take your chances. "But this has been in my family for generations..............."
fringo
Just take it off for a few hours whilst travelling and avoid any potential hassle (the pin I mean !).
HIGHTOWER 1314
Never had a problem with the kilt pin but coming back from dortmund i had my jeans on and set the beeping machine off with BOOKIES PENS plus keys, money and everything i forgot to take out my pockets. :blink:An idea to avoid setting off the machine with the kilt pin etc is to turn your kilt round sideways that helps. Kirk
Put the pin onto the sporran chain and say it doesn't come off or just put it in a bag.
scottincarlisle
Over the years I've only had hassle at Dublin where the guy went off & fetched a ruler. As above stick it in your sporran.
