    Denis Law 1963? Last 2 of 4 at home to Austria then all 3 away to Norway (we lost 4-3). Could have been more, but the Austria 'friendly' was abandoned after 79 mins before someone got seriously hurt. And no, that's not from memory...

    I was there. I'm feeling guilty at missing the Portugal game due to bad planning. That was my first home absence since Qatar 2015 and first Glasgow miss since Hungary 2004. Part reason for the low crowd must have been a lack of understanding of the games importance. I think I talked it up to myself too much and got pretty stressed out 😬

    Looks like Poland just need a draw in Portugal tonight to bump Germany down to pot 2 ! Portugal can play their B-team again too.

    I'm quite amazed how someone at UEFA thought this all through. Other than confusion (and still low crowds in our case) I don't thing we've managed to find a major flaw in the system itself. Maybe the possibility that a league C team might throw games to get relegated and get an easier play-off next time? Are Lithuania at it?

    I think you're taking him too literally Andy. What I believe McLeish meant was that he had decided on his 11 a short time before the game and lost only 2 from that.

    Maybe not, but seemed to me that Patterson was the only one under any pressure, and Israel caused us a lot more bother. That was in behind us with 3-at-the-back right enough, and I doubt well be in such a mess as in Haifa.

    Will 11 on the park, Albania would have caused a lot more bother (obviously) and seemed to target that side. I don't remember Robertson having to defend much at all on the left. Israel will try as well. If Tierney isn't coming back, we'll need to give Patterson some cover I think. At least try to cut off supply of long balls up their left wing and not leave him one-on-one.

    OK, miserable flip side for a laugh If we fail to beat Israel - 1. We probably miss the play-offs play-off, or get a pretty tough one. 2. We're in same lowly Nations League C with a B team dropping down to play us next time. 3. We impact our Euro 2020 qualifying pot. 4. We impact our World Cup 2022 qualifying pot. This game is huge. I'd emphasise the positive side, and go for it on Tuesday though!

    The Athens Sportsbar address was Veikou 3, just south of the Acropolis/Parthenon. Biggest pub concentration I reckon was in the Psyri. E.G. Beertime at Pl. Iroon 1. Contrary to my expectations, Athens was not cheap btw.

    On the way back from Israel, Mrs Grim & I chilled out on the roof of the Hotel Byron. Lovely. Might be somewhat chillier come the Albania game, so wear a tank top or whatever. If you want some exercise and a view, leg it up Mount Lycabettus. Yeah, you can get a beer at the top too! And of course, get the underground out to The Wee Dram for (in this case) up-market bevvy and a game on the telly. Sorted.

    Acht, bless them. Shame I missed it. I love listening to my old warmed up valves. I them both, but they can both get a wee bit excitable. What a shame ☺️
